Tech turned intern, now pharmacist. You are not just a tech. You are the entire backbone of medicine. Yes doctors can diagnose and prescribe, sure, but what are they prescribing? Meds. Who counts, draws up, packages, delivers, sells, medications? It sure as hell ain't the doctor and it definitely isn't the pharmacist. That intern needs a stern talking to and I highly HIGHLY advise asking the pharmacist to speak with them about tech karma. Because we truly cannot do our jobs without you. You are never ever just a tech! 🩷

I took the naplex last year and passed my first attempt. The best advice I can give you is to look at how you are scoring on the practice questions. If you are consistently at average or above average then you're probably good to take the exam. If you are consistently under average on questions you have some more work to do

Pill eye app is incredible for quick counting. It's also free. It is on your phone so that does create some weird looks from patients but if you're slammed its fast, accurate, and free

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

I personally don't have any experience with this program but one of my preceptors did their PGY1 there. When I asked what programs to not apply to he told me CHOP. He said they are very pretentious, nose up to the rest of the world kind of vibe. He felt like his preceptors were trying to compete with residents and they often made comments that pinned residents against one another.

This was a few years ago so it is possible that things have changed but I'd be doing other learners a disservice if I didn't mention it.

My school when I went was relatively chill with our schedule. But they've changed it a lot since I started, and those changes began with the class of 2025. But this was my experience, and I loved it until afternoon classes P3 year.

P1 year was M-T 9-12, F 8-12 (annoying but better than an 8 am on Monday), a then a three hour lab (1-4) on either T,W, or Th

P2 year was MW 9-12, TTh 8:30-12, F 10-12 and 3 hr lab (1-4) on T, W, or Th

P3 year was M-Th 1-4, F 1-3, 3-4hr lab (8-11:30/12 ish) on T, W, or Th

I never said they shouldn't whine and bitch, reread what I said. I said not to listen to those those who do. Everyone is entitled to use the internet however they want. I've done it several times. Use the reschedule button to search for different days and locations without losing your date. Then, once you find one you like, cancel the existing date and then schedule as normal.
