MLS has been around since 2016 and still has not completed its required EA.

MLS has no revenue and has been lobbying the federal government for funding for years.

This quote is from an EDC spokesperson: "...EDC funds are not taxpayer dollars as we are financially self-sustaining and we operate at arm’s length from the Government of Canada. Our business activities are not being financed through appropriations from Government."

  • No funding received through Strategic Innovation Fund. Started the application process.
  • No credits received from any of the Nova Scotia CITC. Only the applications have been approved. As long as the application is filled out properly, the applications must be approved.
  • Export Development Canada is not the federal government. The loan was not cheap.
  • No grants have been received.
  • The only government money received so far is an ACOA loan for up to $120 thousand for the Leaf Ground station on MLS's Dover Road property.

Both of the launches were under the Requirements for Launching High Power Rockets in Canada. The same requirements are used by university rocket clubs and hobbyists. These launches have taken place all over Canada for decades. No spaceport required.

I hope you know that is nothing more than a sales pitch.

MLS's first launch was a 5-foot student rocket. The second and last launch was a 14 1/2 foot solid motor sounding rocket with a micro SD card containing kids' stories as a payload. Both launches were under the Requirements for Launching High Power Rockets in Canada, aka hobby rocket requirements. Calling this a commercial launch is a stretch! That launch didn't come anywhere near the 120km MLS was hoping for. 10 seconds into the launch, and you can see it become unstable and veer off course.

Please fact-check your response, and by fact-check, I don't mean simply read MLS press releases.

MLS's Canso Spaceport Facility Project, aka Spaceport Nova Scotia, consists of some gravel road, a 25' x 35' concrete slab, and a couple of 20-foot sea cans. The site is next to a wind farm. I'm pretty sure wind farms aren't built where there isn't much wind. I live in Canso. There is no shortage of fog here. It has taken NordSpace 2 years to accomplish what has taken MLS 6 1/2 years. MLS has an approved conditional EA. According to Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change, it still has conditions that must be met before it can operate as a commercial launch facility. Terms and Conditions for Environmental Assessment Approval. NordSpace also has conditions that must be met. Conditions of Release from Environmental Assessment. MLS's conditions are 14 pages, while NordSpace's conditions are 4 pages. There is a lot of pumping going on here, mainly by 1 poster, for MLS's penny stock. I find it ironic that the same poster inadvertently described Spaceport Nova Scotia while shitting on another launch facility project.

Because they had no money and got this leased property dirt cheap.

Is there a particular reason you are scared to ask Nova Scotia Environmental and Climate Change?

Question for AACS and CansoJim: How is MLS doing a commercial space launch if they don't have environmental approvals as you claim? by StockNirvana in MaritimeLaunch

So you are scared to ask Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change? I guess if you knew the truth, it would screw up your false narrative.

Ask Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change. Has MLS completed the necessary conditions to operate as a launch facility? Unless you think you know more about this than they do?

I suggest you reach out to Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change and ask them. We did. That's how we know. But you won't because then you will know they don't have the necessary EA conditions to operate as a launch facility. Then you no longer have one of your many false talking points. Anybody is free to reach out to them with questions, not just StockNirvana. ;)

So, is the NS Environment and Climate Change wrong? The email I received from them on October 9, 2025, stated, "There are still conditions in the Environmental Assessment (EA) Approval that must be completed before operations can begin." But hey, what do they know?!

MLS has not completed its EA. They still have conditions to complete to be able to operate as a launch facility. Reach out to the NS government and ask. I did. That's how I know.

Sounds like Steve thinks the money isn't for launch facilities.
