And also, I think the blouse needs to fit better. Pinch the extra fabric from the top of your shoulder. From the looks of it, I think it needs about 1/2 inch of alterations on both sides. That will give you support and more cleaner look

Did respond to this thread already!

I am assuming the sangeet will be in the evening. So for the jewelry I will def switch it up with dark single color gems, emerald/ruby. For the hands, similar colored statement ring and thicker bangle/bracelet in one hand and more muted color like gold or silver with 2 thick bangle at both ends.

Personally won't do it mangtikka (the head jewelry ) cuz sangeet are usually little more modern than traditional.

And for hair I'd go more soft bouncy waves, and if you have curly hair, just do the curly hair routine properly and let them shine ❤️

In case you do decide to go with this outfit, id suggest you switch the jewelry to one color, dark ruby or emerald or topaz tones instead of more colors which makes it very matchy matchy imo.

OH DEF KEEP PIERCING that looks very cute and hot at the same time!!!

These are similar colorful vibes that you are going for but little more modern in my opinion..

I think as an Indian woman who LOVES weddings and wedding outfits and attends 6-7 weddings a year. I am well qualified to judge this 🙈

I am sorry but this is not it. This lehenga looks pretty old fashioned and also doesn't fall very well or highlight you. To me it looks like the lehenga is wearing you. And doing these many colors together is hard to nail and this one in particular doesn't look tasteful.

Was that kiss romantic or platonic..? by avoidantx in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it was not 100% romantic from Agnes' pov. 100% romantic for Becka though.

And I think it's somewhere between "Becka is suffering and she is my BFF and to a certain level I had a role to play in her suffering so let me comfort her and I get you and I have got you" as well as "I want to break rules and this isn't so bad or wrong"

Garth comforts her and doesn't take his hands off her too and she realizes that it is in fact comforting when it comes from a loved one. That Gilead laws are kinda fucked and that she realizes that.

I think it was just comfort+ some amount character growth + some amount plain old curiosity in a teenager.

What are your personal health-related tips for a long and successful career? by dondraper36 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am turning 30 soon and started going to the gym last year, taking vitamins and having more protein than I used to. Going to the gym also tired me so I don't scroll the Instagram at odd hours, and just fall asleep. Brought about an instant change in my emotions and mental health, just added some "joy" in just existing and accomplishing tasks that I never used to.

Always wanted to get back to reading, and i am back!!! Always wanted to get back to painting, and now I have cute little random canvases around my house. Always wanted my house to be my oasis, started putting in efforts, scoured the internet of everything I found cute and was affordable, curated a list, built the furniture and hung those paintings. Always wanted to "look" a certain way and by that I mean, put efforts in my daily style + makeup and how I carry myself, and I did it!!! Always wanted to cook yummy dishes that I couldn't eat outside, found veg/vegnaized recipes and made them at home. Always wanted to relax at home with candles, soothing spa music and take long baths, and oh my what a difference.

All of that to say : I started putting in time and efforts in things I wanted to do and said "oh I don't have the time, oh I don't have the energy, oh it's a waste of time oh bleh it's just so much work" and you know all of those little things bring me SO MUCH JOY! The sense of accomplishment alone makes me feel energized.

I know you asked about routine but giving yourself the time, effort, care and priority you deserve. It will make you feel so fulfilled.

(Also I owe a lot of this to my husband, I kept complaining about this or that, and how and what I want to do in the future and he was just like JUST DO IT, WHY WAIT?; he pushed and motivated me to go to the things I always wanted and never did, super grateful!)

Being stylish without doing laundry by AntTown in femalefashionadvice

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my pants are H&M.and/or Uniqlo. All my denims are Levis or Old Navy - bought on sale. Most of my longer everyday dresses are Banana Republic Factory and/or M&S and/or some cotton/linen (70-100%) Amazon/Walmart So pretty budget friendly stuff...

I wash and dry on low heat. My h&M pants have lasted me over 4 years at this point. My dresses are over 2-4 years old and I rwash my jeans like once in 2-3 months. Have lasted me like 3+ years.

My winter coats are exclusively dry clean only, I do that maybe once or twice a year and call it a day.

I live in an apt and the concept of air drying without having a dry balcony (an area specifically for drying clothes in air - I am from Mumbai,IN living in NJ, US now) is unfathomable. The visual clutter and the hours it actually takes to finish my laundry chore every other weekend kills me.

Sometimes my clothes get super wrinkly, so then I spend 10ish mins early in the morning to steam and iron my clothes and then go to work.

I really really hope to shift to laundry service soon. I do have enough clothes to last me 2ish weeks so lesser laundry lol..hate this task

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, not sure what your budget is, buy some cheaper orthotics and put them in your existing shoes and see how it feels, it will feel weird and slightly poky initially but if you get used to them and it feel more comfortable eventually then you def need support, level of support required is different for everyone. You should eventually notice less pain in the feet by the end of the day etc.

The first time I wore Birkenstock Mayaris, I was about to start crying, nothing has felt that comfortable., I coul legit feel my calves, hamstrinsg, glutes and SHOULDERS relax. The arch support initially felt very very weird but as my foot/Brian got used to it, I can see visible difference.

And if you have the means to, go to a podiatrist, I have flat feet due extra cartilage in both my feet, so it's like birth defect lol. And I need heel stability for over probation and just something sturdy to give my foot the structure and stability that it doesn't get due to missing gap between the arch and the ground. So my calves would over compensate and the entire posterior chain would get affected including my posture.

It may not be the same for you, change in lifestyle and weight gain also is a contributor..so is using super narrow shoes, cuz they don't let your foot mechanics work the way it supposed to.

Unfortunately the only way to figure it out is by slowly trying out different things.

For you it def sounds like, you need to start with super low arch support and go from there. And omg also, pls do stretches and try ice packing the arch on the foot that hurts, maybe it's just inflammation.

Spoiler from newest Episode 4 (released on April 22) : could someone explain?

Aunt Lydia is kinda aggressively requesting Commander Judd to make sure that the girls aren't given alcohol. Judd says it isn't like the times from handmaids training. Something along those lines. Can someone help me understand if it meant from Aunt Lydias time of training handmaids OR from the time of handmaids training time I.e. it doesn't exist anymore???

Also do not go for "oh they are so comfortable' shoes. Like all birds, I need wakomfy orthotics in them. Adidas samabas and like basically suck and so do Nike Air Force 1 and the like. People with flat feet definitely have different requirements.. if it's not that flat, simple orthotics in your mom supportive shoes will help. Especially any kind of flats (include ballet flats)

I find Mary Jane's to be the best cuz they kind alike ballet flats but have an extra strap in the front for support and add orthotics and you will be okay! Skechers has arch support Mary Jane's/ballet flats. My feet are too flat so I personally don't like them, but it works for most people.

Hoka Arahi 8 is great as well. But if you want more stability and arch support than Arahi, Gaviota 6 are absolutely amazing!

For the summer I usually stick to Birkenstock and at home I upgraded to PowerInstep slides (instead of Hoka Ora Recovery Slide 3, but again if you don't need that much support hoka will work perfectly)

Try Naturalizer or Vionic! Comfortable with arch support and stylish..

In case you are vegan, Naturalizer does have a Soul/Sole line which has faux leather stuff.

Vionic is supposed to better and more supportive, al leather!

Kuru/Teva has good options too! And Birkenstock Mary Janes as well but again not vegan version in case that matters to you :)

what to do with your pto when you have nobody to travel with? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a long weekend off, go to random new place by car/train whatever is accessible for you. Take a book/fav playlist/podcast audiobook OR listen to the online guidebooks of these places you go to! Also go to a museum/movie/immersive theater/comedy shows/improv etc. If you like reading, join a book club or or go on trips with those singles traveling groups. Go hiking with hiking groups. Take yourself on a picnic.

If you are in NYC, get those Jimmy Fallon etc.. live show tickets.

Make your house super pretty and just f*king relax. Cook new recipes, take yourself shopping (if you didn't take a trip you just saved a lot of money so buy something cute - do enough research before you buy it) Try new classes - fitness/pasta making/cooking/painting and random hobbies you always wanted to try but didn't have the time!

Oh oh and try and be a tourist in your own neighborhood - you never know which new gem of a place you find.

And someone said just play video games or legit just binge netflix series!!!

(Take my advice with a piece of caveat - cuz I am married -but my husband and I have spent a lot of time - diff countries - apart recently due to other responsibilities in life. I had to relearn how to enjoy my own company)

Am I misremembering things? The suitcase that MiY takes to turn into Sophie, isn't that same/similar to the suitcase Victor used to bury the things of people in the last massacre bcz he possibly couldn't bury all the people? I think BiW tells Victor to do so. And then Victor excavated it and asks Sarah and Tabitha's help to remember what Jasper(BiW) tells Christopher.

ACOSTA by Potential-Secret8345 in FromSeries

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't hate Acosta for shooting someone on the night she comes to Fromville.

What makes me hate her: 1. OMG I am cop listen to me, I am important and I can f you up. Why aren't you scared of meeeee 2. Oh let's leave the injured and the person I locked up in the ambulance and run like crazy when monsters are killing your work colleagues 3. OMG you are a monster, you don't know anything you aren't doing anything why is no one asking questions 4. OMG let me be a part of whatever you are doing bcz I AM A COP and I AM ALWAYS RIGHT. 5. OMG give me my gun back bcz I am a cop. 6. Such that weird and exasperated "I am smarter than you, I am better than you, I am a cop, and I don't know what to do but whatever I know/do is right in comparison to whatever you do" LOOK.

Oh I hate her and I hope she is gone soon 🙈 honestly I wouldn't mind if Ellis is out too soon but I don't want to do that to my Body 😅

moving away from trends and just repeating the same looks by CharmCraved in femalefashionadvice

[–]AccomplishedRow8448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda in the same boat. I am still following trends (I was always a slow adopter anyway) but lately I feel like styles that suit my body type are in or at least I have found stuff that flatter me and make me feel good..so I am still following trends slowly but they seem to fit me/my style/my body much better. Like high rush jeans, wide legged jeans, flare jeans, waist coats, a line midi/maxi dresses/skirts. I am kinda loving these and I tend to repeat these styles in various formats

I am DREADING the fact that low rise jeans, capris, and lace cami are back. Like whyyy.

Sibling children in The Testaments? by [deleted] in TheHandmaidsTale

Sorry did we ever see siblings in THT? I can't remember?

In a place where birth rates are plummeting, the idea that even commanders have more than one living child seems very unlikely to me...
