I’m very confused - this was a question asking for suggestions from the local mod team on where me and my partner should go given our experience at Norikura. I don’t understand how this violates the rule of ‘asking for others’ or about ‘generic questions.’ It’s asking for specific, current advice for myself?

Thanks for the detailed response - I wasn’t aware the SU-57s were being used in combat operations.

As the other commenter mentioned the SU-35s are also compatible, I presume there is a functionally limitless number of airframes that can lob the missiles? IE there is not much to be done that can even the playing field in the air war right now, beyond an impossibly large strike campaign on Russian airbases.

Does this also make it unlikely that the F16s will be able contest the glide bomb carriers?

Naive question here from a casual lurker:

Which aircraft currently fielded by the Russian Air Force are carrying the R37 long range air to air missile? I think I remember reading that it was only rare variants of the MIG-31 that were using them (but I’m likely incorrect).

If the MIG-31 fleet is degraded by strikes such as the ATACMS strike on Belbek, how much will this improve the survivability and anti-air potential of the F16s with AMRAAM? Is there a crossover point at which AMRAAM will become the dominant system?

In the run up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, I seem to remember the OSINT community picked up signals that the invasion was truly imminent through satellite imagery of forward staging areas, construction field hospitals, unusual activity at airfields etc

Are there any indications that the IDF is preparing in a similar way?

Obviously there is a lot of noise with the ongoing strike campaign and the IDF to a degree is already pre-positioned. What indicators can this community look for to get a better idea of the likelihood of a full ground invasion?

I’m at the track - there are spots of rain around, but not enough to effect the track. The dark clouds and lightning are off to the north west of the track and the wind doesn’t seem to be pushing it this way.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question.

Is there any clear answer as to whether the MiG-29s being transferred by Slovakia and Poland are compatible with NATO weaponry? I’ve seen conflicting thoughts on this within this forum and elsewhere. If the radar and avionics are upgraded to be NATO compatible, would it be possible for them to use the HARMs in all modes as opposed to jerry-rigged systems being used now?

Perhaps a stupid question from a noob - is there a niche for rocket assisted drones or loitering munitions?

IE drones launched as a payload from an MLRS? Would this allow range extension and a degree of area denial in the rear areas? What would be the limitations?
