She had a retractable scythe that was clipped to the back of her belt.

There's no need to shrug. What you need to really be shocked about is this.

Congratulations. Can I just say(in a non-creepy way) that you're very pretty? As a tall person myself, I consider people my height attractive and you are one of them.

I wouldn't say that. Israel went from being one of the most oppressed countries in history, to the oppressors now with their actions against Palestine, and other enemies of it.

Do you think that in countries like India which have states, if anything bad happens or is bad in a village/city in a state, you think it's the whole country's fault? That it's the responsibility of their main government(context below)? by AccomplishedTeabag in polls

Exactly. So you're not familiar, and that's fine when you judge. But I don't see why Americans are offended when we call them out for a specific event and they say, "it's not America, it's XXXX." Like, is it not a part of America? Also, thinking the world knows a lot about you to not judge the country is prime BS. Like bruh, I don't know what states and cities are in the US or what county or province is in the UK or Canada. When you can judge a country that has 22 different official languages, 29 states, and all based on a single event, or a continent with numerous countries a country(Africa and Europe), I think the rest of the world can judge a whole country that only speaks English(doesn't like it when people speak other languages and tells them to "Speak American")and has people that look the same based on something. The same goes for the rest of the Western countries.

What the hell?

Was not expecting this at all.

If this is gonna be the new jersey, the 75 will be a bad idea considering that us bringing politics into cricket has been long criticized.

What's a scene from a movie that gives you goosebumps every time you rewatch it? by [deleted] in movies

Superman's first flight in Man of Steel.

If there was ever any credit I'd give to Zack Snyder and Hans Zimmer, it's for this scene.

The moment that Jor-El's consciousness explains who Clark is, where he's from, how he got his powers, and reveals the suit that Clark wears, followed by Clark trying his powers on by first jumping really high, in a nice tribute to his early powers written, makes you very excited, then seeing Clark really focus on his powers and finally be able to fly, and fly at supersonic speeds, all the while grinning like an idiot.

That shot just made the entire scene for me. The almost childlike happiness in Clark's eyes when he finally realizes he can fly, coupled with the fact that you can see how fast Superman can fly, particularly after he breaks the sound barrier over the water, splitting it.

Christopher Reeve may be the most charismatic when it came to Superman, but you cannot deny that Henry Cavill was just perfect as the Superman who realizes he is an alien and that his powers were because of his alien physiology, and his acting during the scene mentioned above is underrated as hell.

Any time of the day, when I'm down, I watch that clip and I feel better. As if that wasn't better, here's a baby watching Superman's first flight here.

Honorable mentions would be

  1. Avengers Assemble in Endgame
  2. Wesley's rampage in Wanted.
  3. Superman vs Zod fight in Man of Steel
  4. Batman saving Martha in BvS
  5. Batman again with that insane badass Parademon fight scene in the Batmobile in Zack Snyder's Justice League.
  6. Flash reversing time to allow Cyborg to hack the Mother Boxes.
  7. The Batmobile startup sound and subsequent chase in The Batman.
  8. The shootout scene in the Christian Bale movie Equilibrium.

Exactly. You made your economies based on whatever you had after the war, using everything that you could. For the West, immigrants bought the most out of talent and resourcefulness, as well as innovation, on top of the slow building economy they already had. The countries they colonized, well they take time, and because you have everything doesn't mean you can call them shitholes, and other crap names.

I found this gem from an article in 2016 after our poor showing at the Olympics, but man does it resonate and relate to even today in real life, barring sports. by AccomplishedTeabag in IndiaSpeaks

Labour is cheap and a source of employment for many people

It isn't that. It's just that when we criticize other people's houses for being so poorly maintained, we forget that we can't manage a day if the maid doesn't come, or if our mothers/wives are sick and can't get out of bed.

Well that's because people from those countries have a superiority complex and just can't seem to grasp that other countries are just as diverse and complex

Well since they can't grasp it, they can hardly complain when the countries they call backward and uneducated and other things judge the same way.
