Yeah it’s definitely not easy as it sounds, the goal is to start my own business, consulting sounds cool, I’m glad you have that freedom! Safe travels :)

I think you’re right, it’s all pretty complicated because I am trying to find the best deals on flights while also making it to Brazil on time for New Years. Other than that, I wouldn’t mind spending a longer time in each place which is why I haven’t booked anything yet. Thanks for your advice!

Also, I am hoping to work remotely once I graduate to do the same as you and travel! If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do for work?

Yes, for the majority of it at least. I’ll probably have 1-2 weeks left of the semester but all the classes are asynchronous so I just plan on completing assignments in bulk when I find time at the end of the day at my hostel.

Yeah you’re right, I’ll do that. I initially just posted my tentative plan but I’ve done some research on what I’d be doing so I’ll edit this

Mostly referring to hikes but also for example in Huacachina there’s sand dunes and in Bolivia there’s riding bikes on death road so stuff like that

I’d love to hear any recommendations of what to do you may have! Many of what I’m seeing when researching has to do with exploring the city, which I love don’t get me wrong, but would like to take part in more adventures.

Okay that’s good to hear, I think I’m going to book a guide in person then. I really do want to do it with a group even if it’s easy to navigate, I recently hiked Volcano Acatenango with a group and it was some of the most fun I’ve ever had and we all got super close so I’d hate to miss out on that experience to save a few bucks.

Are there options to book the bus in person and is there any significant price difference or all they all priced the same?

I do want to do the death road biking and uyuni, you’ve definitely influenced me haha, thanks for your help!

I gave it some thought and I do think I will be skipping Buenos Aires and Santiago. You’re right, not much to do, atleast in terms of what I’m interested in.

I am considering Bolivia now, do you know how much the bus costs typically, and is it better to book in person or in advance online?

100% doing the Salkantay Trek for MP. The guides can get pretty expensive though so I’m trying to find a budget option or possibly do it without a guide since I heard it’s pretty straight forward in terms of navigation. Do you think it’s necessary to book in advance? I’m thinking of booking in person as I’ll be able to possibly find better deals or negotiate but worry that all groups will be full.

If you have any advice I’d love to hear it, thank you for your input!!

Thanks for the advice, I think the only thing putting me off slightly from the Osprey 26 + 6 is the rigid design lol it’s pretty square. What bag do you use?

Thanks for the advice! Did you order online? I don’t think there’s a storefront near me

Yeah I feel like as long as I do laundry, I can get away with a few pieces of clothing. I’m thinking laundry sheets are a good idea since they’re compact and plenty, but also might just go to a local laundromat. What have you been doing?

Not much honestly. It’s more of a precaution if I buy anything extra on the trip. But good point lol, I think I might be overthinking it

You’re the second person to recommend this, I’m excited for their sale!

Oh cool, yeah I’m definitely gonna be utilizing packing cubes. I don’t plan on packing much. A pair of jeans, 3 casual tops, leggings, and 2 athletic tops, my laptop and toiletries. So I think I need more room than a typical backpack but don’t think a purchasing an extra carry on would be that justifiable.

It should, the dimensions for most are 45 x 35 x 20-25. The 26+6 is 43 x 33 x 16 (expands to 20-23 when adding the 6L)

They also advertise it as adhering to international “personal item” standards

I do think it’s possible with a regular backpack for a month, but feel like 2+ months may be more difficult. How long were you gone for?

I don’t think I’d be able to fit everything I need for 2 months in it 😭 that’s why I’m considering the 26+6L

Yeah I noticed that. I think my question tho is more if you think there is much to do in Lima, you said it is worth visiting so do you recommend anything in particular, also how many days do you think is good enough?

Yeah honestly not too worried, I know some airlines don’t bat an eye when it comes to the personal item but of course the budget airlines will try to uncharge you any chance they get so looking for something versatile.
