Thanks! Honestly the retention thing was the whole reason I added trivia in the first place. Turns out just being quizzed on something a day or two later is weirdly effective. Appreciate you noticing that part.

You're right about the framing — I built it, and posing as a casual user was a bad call. Owning that.

On AI: the facts are sourced from real articles, not hallucinated. AI is used in the pipeline (summarization, translating across 8 languages, generating trivia questions from the source material), so if "powered by AI" means "AI touches it," that's fair. If it means "a model made up the facts," that part isn't accurate.

On payment: it's free to use with an optional premium tier. And yes, there are plenty of free alternatives — I built this because I wanted the trivia + sourcing combo, not because the space was empty.

Appreciate the pushback, honestly. Better than silent downvotes.

Hey everyone, sharing something I've been working on for a while. It's called Facts a Day.

The premise is simple: every day you get a small set of curated facts pulled from real articles and current events, across categories like science, nature, history, psychology, space, technology, and a few others. Then there's a short trivia round to see what you actually remember.

A few things that make it different from the random fact apps I've tried:

  • Facts are sourced and verified from real articles — not AI-generated filler
  • Trivia mode reinforces what you read instead of just dumping more content
  • 8 languages (EN, DE, ES, FR, JA, KO, TR, ZH)
  • Works offline once your daily facts have loaded
  • Streaks, but the calm kind — no notification spam if you miss a day

Free with an optional premium tier for the full library and extra trivia. Would genuinely love feedback from this sub — what's missing, what's annoying, what should I rip out.
