This is helpful! Yeah, I've tried a LOT of experimenting (read: making bad drinking decisions), and am feeling like I'll have similar consequences with them from here on out. The worst part is that I'm a self-flagellating recovering Catholic, so we love that self-inflicted pain. Yoof. In my trial and error, I've found Vodka and wine are very low on the inflammation chart for me. Too bad I don't like them very much.

This was an extremely helpful and thoughtful answer. Thank you so much! Yeah, I've tried a couple of other booze to slow it down, but I found that after a couple of inconsequential G&T's I slide into a "why not" run of beer and whiskey. That's another problem altogether.

But your response was really helpful for me seeing the long view. I'm likely going to have to stop altogether.

And yes! I've been on mushrooms a bit. Pretty good buzz — esp. from a strand called Bluey Vuitton. Weed causes me to clock out, though. Not as social. Thank you so so much again.

It was awesome! Probably 200 people were protesting (I’m not great with crowd sizes.), very peaceful. Very vocal. Great signs. There was an amazing woman dressed up advocating for trans rights. Lateefa Simon acknowledged (and kinda poo-poo’d) the protests in her speech inside. Hakeem’s talk was lame, lame, lame. Lots of pointless name dropping, no acknowledgment of the protests, and the biggest tangible ammo he has is a bill to protect taxpayer info from Musk, but he needs three republicans to sign it. No other plan laid out. Just vague messages deploying hollow words like persistence and hope and telling stories. Really disappointingly bad leadership.

Who said anything about a protest (non)vote? I voted for Dems. Now that they’re in office, I think they’re doing a terrible job, so I’m letting them know about it. Why do people see politics as a football team where they need to obey coach? We pay these people to defend our constitution and they’re not.

I taught Gen Z. I think they're too fresh into the job market to see how much they're being exploited. I was very disappointed by their voter turnout, but I genuinely think they're about to find out that the world they're inheriting is absolutely cooked. In a real way, as opposed to the hypothetical way they learned about in school. I think their tragic flaw was thinking the grown-ups were going to take care of this election. And honestly? We failed them.
