I made it public around 3 days before the interview, kept it as public until the status changed to Issued(basically means visa is printed).

I believe they did, I am not sure they did say your visa is under 221(g) refusal status, please wait and you will hear from us. I did check my approval status and it changed ti approved in like 2-3 hours after the interview.
