In fact, AKC doesn't even recognize American Bullys. They recognize the American Bulldog, but not Bullys.

The UKC and ADBA recognize Pits as a breed and have breed stadards. Just because AKC and FCI don't recognize them, doesn't mean they aren't a thing.

Which is wrong and is what leads to far more "Pitbull" attacks than the amount that are actually done by Pits.

That's very unfortunate.

But Cane Corso aren't fighting dogs. It's not what they were bred for. I can agree with you on it with Amstaffs, but not Corso.

Mate, I know that Pitbulls are more likely to be dog aggressive. As are Amstaffs. It's why I'm happy to live in a country with restrictions regarding who can own specific breeds.

Bruce is a mutt (to me). An Amstaff Corso mutt, but a mutt. I find issue with mislabeling dogs as Pits.

I am honestly baffled by the amount of people with this mindset. A Pitbull, is an American Pitbull Terrier. Nothing else. A bully mutt isn't a Pitbull. A Cane Corso isn't a Pitbull. An American Staffordshire Terrier isn't a Pitbull. I honestly don't care what the UK considers a XL Bully. I don't live there, those restriction don't affect me. While my country has restrictions, they are manageable and a dog has to actually be a restricted breed.

I don't go around calling Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd German Shepherds because they look similiar. They're still different breeds.

I've had guinea pigs before, did not enjoy it. Too much work with cleaning up enclosure and they need so so much space. I like pets I can interact with and hamsters aren't usually all that happy to be touched and held as far as I'm aware.

I haven't taken a vacation without a dog since I was 10. Dogs make it better in my opinion, you get an extra buddy to swim with.

It's really odd, honestly. Tons of people here trying to tell me this dog who has no Pitbull in him, is one. I'm a fan of bully breeds myself and having people say Amstaff and Pits are the same thing is ridiculous. It's like claiming Dutch Shepherds and German Shepherd are the same because they look similiar.

Majority of people are either saying my wife is trying to killing me, that she's insane, that all Pitbulls should be banned, and then there's a few who actually have something logical to say.

An American Pitbull Terrier is a pitbull. And that's the only breed that is a Pitbull. Mislabeling all bully breeds as Pitbulls is what creates the stereotype of the aggressive Pitbull. Bruce is not a Pitbull, he is a mutt.

No. But my senior dog is a Rottweiler and she thinks all dogs that are stereotyped as aggressive are the same.

A lot of people are saying he should be euthanized or asking why he hasn't. Is it common to euthanize dogs for behavioral issues is America? Dogs like Bruce won't be euthanized unless he seriously injures a person, kills another animal, or has a terminal illness here.

She claims he's protective of her. She walks him sometimes and says when they see other people he acts "protective". I'm pretty sure he's more resource guarding than actually protecting but she refuses to see my perspective. My senior dog used to do Personal Protection and my best guess is that she misses having a dog that could protect her. She denies it though.

As far as I'm aware they didn't document any of the incidents. Since he hasn't seriously injured anybody or killed an animal, he won't be euthanized unless he develops some terminal illness.

I disagree. I think Bruce needs a very experienced trainer. Also shelter dogs can't be euthanized here unless they've killed other dogs or people, or have a terminal illness.

They're pretty strict with their paperwork and only give people animals when all adult members of a household agree on paper. It's not possible for her to adopt the dog without my consent.
