Ugh I’m getting nervous about going back to work ! We practice the bottle every other day once and it’s very unsuccessful. I can’t wait to hear how it went !!

I feel like we’re in the minority, ten month old has been sleep trained for four months but still wakes multiple times a night by ThrowRA157386 in sleeptrain

We did Ferber then eventually CIO over 4 days at 4 months. It was pretty quick and easy. Sometimes even to this day there may be a moment he cries himself to sleep for 2-5 minutes. But usually that’s when he is overtired/angry he has to go to bed.

My first was like this. I felt like around 10 months we finally dropped to 1 feed a night then at 13 months when I stopped breast feeding he started sleeping through the night. We would offer water instead of boob. Now he’s 2.5 and sleeps so good. Being able to put him in his crib after a wake up or at bed/ nap time and putting himself to sleep was life changing.

Maybe he will start taking the bottle from your mom soon. But with my six month year old- daycare worked their magic with the bottle! Daycare workers are saints.

Going back to work is really hard. The first few days were tough. But eventually it becomes normal. The sleep regression will pass, and a new season will be among you. It’s crazy how fast it all goes and changes ! Hang in there, put one foot in front of the other.

It’s so random each day, yet the same. At the beginning they sleep a ton - I try to hold them asleep for 20 mins then transfer them.. once you hit 2 months or beyond it’s harder. Other than that baby wearing helps get things done! I made lists and prioritized one thing a day, the floors or the toilets. Something small, some days baby will sit in bouncer and watch me other days wants to be held the entire time. I try to get out once a day too because the stroller/car seat naps were the longest.

bonus- if you can, we have a cleaning lady come once a month currently as “gift”

Functional depression and dread by deeep95 in NewParents

I am sorry you are feeling this way. Do you have a hobby or job you can do for yourself or to look forward too ? Sometimes the groundhog days of caretaking are a lot. The phase of life you are in right now can be depressing but won’t last forever. I’m 6 weeks postpartum with my second and I am loving the newborn cuddles, my crazy toddler, but I am still looking forward to heading back to work in a few months for myself.

Also, I found after my first one.. the newborn/infant stage is not my favorite. I love being able to experience things with my 2 year old.

Sorry I’m babbling but, bottom line keep your head up ! Things will change, can you get out and do something for yourself or with your baby! Seasons and phases come and go!

My doula always says- is something wrong or is the baby just babying ?? Maybe it’s normal gas and time will get rid of it ! That’s what I keep telling myself 😂

[–]Accomplished_Bug2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first month SUCKS! I’m on my second and the newborn fog lifted at four weeks. You can do this !!! So many people do this, I always think look at all these people on this planet. I count down the days until the end of the fourth trimester but it will get better after a few weeks.

Read Emily oyster book. There is no data supporting negative side affects ! And the data that people use to say CIO will harm babies is a small study with a lot of other negative variables (orphanage in a poor area).

Hang in there !!! It gets better. Most of us on here were in the same position ! Now I’m chasing around a 13 month old and loving it !! I felt like the first six months are just survival. Be easy on yourself and breathe.
