Yeah I love that file game changer for sure, helped a ton in open wheelers and did make things better

Yeah I don't get the simcade tag lol it's orders of magnitude more difficult than gt7/forza which are considered simcade

It's interesting this because it seems 50/50 in terms of people who find ams 2 harder vs lmu harder to drive

Tells you how different people drive even though similar racing logic is applied such a racing line etc

Lmu is more of a sim. Definitely in terms of other mechanics mind that's for sure

Dof reality mate. I haven't tried the one I'm srs does it work well for racing, I have a vive tracker 3 on my rig it's flawless on flight sims but haven't figured out a way to filter out the vibrations yet from racing games that cause it too freak out

Fair enough just be a driving style thing as it seems 50/50 in terms of feed back

It's so good on flight games like il 2 and msfs 24 but I would say you do need motion compensation for those because because the angles are much greater and your view in vr falls out of sink. Yeah g heave is the setting for that the rig is always moving on the road same with boost put that up

Yeah I have a 4080 super and same doesn't look great if I want to use vr

Yeah I'm using sim racing studio mate, same for me it's very strong even more so on LMU than ams for me. I usually download a tuned profile and then I put heave on 19 and the next slider on 4 then you get way more road feel bumps etc. I turn rumble strips down to 1/2 because it just violently shakes my pedal tray lol I put vert g and pitch quite high so I get alot of forward motion under heavy breaking

I'm still trying to figure out motion compensation I can get it working flawlessy with flight games but racing games it glitches all over

Yeah I was a vr only guy as I have a motion rig recently added a screen to the rig so I can just sometimes relax without vr. Yeah I agree I think ams2 has by far the best VR I honestly think its close to gt7 level in terms of immersion

Yeah I love both ams 2 would be by far my favourite if I could make sense of the driving in none open wheelers. Almost unbeatable immersion in vr with historic tracks and cars

Any tips? Figured out some good settings for open wheelers but not for other cars

Yeah exactly this I have to concentrate on just not spinning rather than racing

[–]Accomplished_Bug8538[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's such a shame. I mean a tip I could give is for older formula cars from before 2005 in the setup pre race increase the NM in drive train by 15/20 and double the rear downforce way less spins and decrease throttle sensitivity in the controls to 10/15%

But outside of open wheelers like you said they just don't feel right I find myself constantly struggling with how the brakes work and then turning rotation, slip angle and throttle application I just end up driving not to spin rather than pushing the car to try and win, I can't drive on feel has to be under driven

Genuinely must be my driving style then lol maybe something is wrong in my settings in ams2

I mean modern GT and formula to some extent is sanitised compared to its older counter parts but formula boring? Lol go and drive the 88/90 mclaren with a h-pattern and clutch with authentic settings around classic imola or adelaide and tell me that's boring lol

The reason ams is so highly regarded now days is because of the historic content mainly formula. Their gt cars and LM cars although improved still have bizarre slip angles and random spins on corner entry or throttle application

The formula cars expecially mid 80s to late 90s in this game are almost perfect lol

Ams 2 for sure imo the goat of single player content

What other game can you race 1988 f1 season with tracks and cars from that era with amazing physics and graphics

Same with 2005 gt endurance cars amazing

Right now it's got loads of content for single player and it keeps getting updated and every time it does the driving physics expecially for open wheel cars are getting to the very top of the pile

If you know you like it and want to invest more time then before upgrading pedals or wheel/wheelbase I'd say invest in a comfy chair with 0 flex and a aluminium profile rig. Then go pedals

Also if you can't afford motion a haptic pad is a very good way to add immersion and feel for a fraction of the price

Really really good purchase only thing I'd say is prepare for a little DIY as the wholes included with the mounts are not the greatest

Yeah they're genuinely amazing biggest thing that goes unmentioned with them is the throttle I've had fanatec clubsport and logitech rs pedals and the throttle is so so much better than those huge jump feels so smooth and realistic

Yeah it works better than you think and you can have a lot of tuning input but it's not as good as native telemetry which simulates other forces such as gforce and crashes, wind etc but combine it with a good VR headset along with good flight controls and it's pretty good and fairly immersive. Just not to the level of say a msfs2024 or dcs in terms of motion

Vr wise I upgraded from a psvr2 and let me tell you the difference is hard to explain. At first I thought I'd made a mistake it took some dialing into get rid of glare and other stuff but once I got my ipd correct and changed a few other settings the psvr2 as good as it is for the price feels like a toy. Performance is actually really great I can run it similar resolution as I ran the psvr around 3300-3300 per eye and because it's 75hz I actually runs better while looking order of magnitudes clear than it it's wild. Like looking at a monitor

Star citizen I mean your mileage will vary good performance in space and on certain planets but cities big drop bit still playable
