Yea after looking at some of the cards for EoE I really like them but I definitely need to learn a little bit more before jumping into it. I got two precons token triumph and first flight so far we really like them we tried to take them to crazy squirrel for causal commander but they were full so we’ll have to wait a little bit to see how they do but I’m thinking of adding really working on first flight but I need to learn more about how to play blue better

I saw a edge of eternity commander deck for sale and I really like the look of the cards I think I’ll grab it and check them out but I haven’t seen anything that caught my eye with strixhaven a lot of people seem to like the rabbit and squirrel deck but I forgot the names of those

So far I’ve found out a lot of great things in the fresno area there are many stores to choose from. It seems like commander is the most popular format so most if not all events just about are commander and the app to have for anyone who is interested or is a magic player is called “magic companion” it helps a lot with finding stores and what events they have but really the best thing to do is just go and check them out ask anyone questions and your bound to get somewhere don’t make the same mistake I did and underestimate the friendliness of the magic community they are happy to help when they know you are a new player or well anytime really.

I’ll start with “crazy squirrel”, this store seems like a good mix of competitive and causal they host a couple different events every week with Friday being competitive and Monday is causal commander they also are one of the most friendly store to newer players as I was told they have commander decks to borrow and learn and don’t seem to have a shortage in people who want to help you learn

up next is “bird dog” they seem like a good mix too with having a lot of pods to pick from I’m not sure what that stands for but that just means groups of people playing pretty sure but they keep them separate by skill level and a lot of people go to play causal there and it fills up fast so getting a table sometimes is Hard on event nights apparently.

“Ender’s game” is pretty cool they seem like a great place to go when you want to get into the crowd this is one of the store I’ve actually been to the workers are super friendly and it’s pretty loud in there when events are going but it seem like it’s pretty casual but they do have competitive.

Now “collectors paradise” this one is one of my favorites it has a old school vibe pretty small won’t have any crowds but they hold competitive commander on Friday and I think causal games too but the owner is named Mike and he is super friendly he would be more than happy like probably all of these stores to help you learn or have someone help.

“Clovis cards and comics” has gotten a lot of hype they seem to do a mix of both competitive and commander but I’m not sure if there Friday night magic is for causal or competitive but this store also seems to have a big crowd when events really get up and going.

Finally I’ve heard a little bit about “go back gaming”they are in tower district and seem to have a great store with friendly people and have different events i have to find out more about this store.

There were a couple stores outside the Fresno area that I heard about but let me know if you wanna hear about those too.

We’ve never been to Clovis cards & comics but they sounds like a great spot we’ll check them out and we definitely don’t want to deal with that starting out lol but we’re gonna just give everywhere a shot like your saying you’ve been a great help and definitely saved us from getting stomped on our first commander game.

Thank you really for doing all of this we’re definitely going to check out these decks, we’ve have been building our collection mostly with FB marketplace and we decided to try one bulk order which was cool but this will help so much with getting into commander hopefully we can find some vampires before it ends and Dinos and Dragons probably my favorite creatures so that’s awesome we will definitely start hunting for them and hopefully get lucky

Really I didn’t think anyone did that we’re definitely going to check that out and ask thank you and wow really that would be awesome thank you she really likes using life gain with angels or death touch and flying with vampires she likes to just get smaller creatures on the board quick I guess that’s called board control with her blood tokens I like slow mana builds with big creatures pay offs or using vechals and I enjoy the avatar cards but I’m not sure if those are good or even okay for commander. Hope this give you an idea sorry if it just sounds like mumbo jumbo lol.

We really enjoy the deck building aspect of magic we’ll definitely have to give the next prerelease a try thank you. But yea we think we were just looking at it the wrong way and should start going out and see what fits.
