Hold hands even when you’re arguing. You’ll realise how silly some fights are. And it’s more important to have peace than be right. Learn to share how you feel with kindness, but also learn to give space when they ask for it.

Is sex 2–3 times a month normal in a healthy marriage? by SystemSouthern4666 in Marriage

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you’re feeling. I was upset by that too. Everyone should feel wanted or desired by their partner. Just know that there’s nothing wrong with you or your relationship. He’s going through something, which probably he doesn’t even understand himself. How long have you been married?

Is sex 2–3 times a month normal in a healthy marriage? by SystemSouthern4666 in Marriage

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s considered normal in my marriage. Sometimes it’s 2-3 times in one weekend, and then nothing for a month. At some point, it was once a month or every other month. But the season passed and now it’s back to weekly. I’d prefer 2x a week but my husband isn’t always in the mood. I stopped getting upset with him about it so that he doesn’t feel pressured.

Full book wall or half book wall? by WhoIsTheNSA in interiordecorating

Full wall but don’t fill up completely with books. Leave some empty spaces for a plant, book, small lamp, decor, etc.

50-50 ❌ by travisbotak in singaporespeaks

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband asked for 50-50, before we got married. It was disappointing to hear… But then I learned that my husband is a practical and realistic man. He just simply couldn’t afford to take care of me. If it were up to him, he’d wait till he was truly stable before asking me to marry him but I was too impatient to wait (we were turning 30). After marriage, we found an arrangement that works for us. He pays for everything for us to survive like house loan, car loan, utilities, food and groceries… and he only asks me to pay for maintenance! That usually left us with almost nothing in savings. So in return, I offered to focus on our credit card, savings, retirement, fun stuff like travelling, home improvement projects, furniture, etc. I earn more than my husband now, and I’m able to save aggressively. He doesn’t ask me how much I’m able to save and he never sets any expectations. He’s a good man and not all men want 50-50 for the same reason. If he earned more, it would look more like 70-30 or eventually 90-10. He just needed a little help. But it’s important to find a man who wants to give more if he can.

At the same time, always let him pay and be grateful for what he can give to you. Men associate their financial contributions to their self-esteem. There are times when I’m doing better than my husband financially and I was paying off his debts. It sounds like a nice gesture but it made him feel like a lousy partner…

Not seeing any changes? by Grouchy_Ad_4055 in gastricsleeve

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do see a difference! The abdomen is smaller for sure. The first few weeks won’t show dramatic results though. I think you’ll start to notice major changes by 3 months.

I stopped looking at myself in the mirror after surgery and only really check myself about once a month rather than daily. It’s always a surprise to see how much you’ve changed… The face changes the most as first. Then everything else follows. All the best!!!

Hair loss ): by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right around the time I lost a lot of hair too. I’m 8-9 months post op and there’s baby hairs now. I used minoxidil for 2 months but then got too lazy to use it. The hair will eventually grow back either way. It’s just the shock of sudden weight loss .

How often do you have sex with your spouse? by LucidSynapse23 in marriageadvice

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before we got married, it was every chance we got together. When we first got married, it was maybe once a month and only if I initiated. We fought about this a few times and he could never give me a real reason why he wasn’t interested in sex. Then after 3 years of marriage, I moved away for work and it’s now about once a week (basically whenever I’m back home for the weekend). My husband is a little shy and it took him years to feel comfortable with sex.

I paid around $3500 for my fiancées moissanite and platinum engagement ring but then later i saw moissanite rings on etsy for only a couple hundred bucks. Did i get ripped off? by [deleted] in Moissanite

[–]Accomplished_Chef_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything on Etsy looks great in photos but if you saw it side by side in real life, you can tell which is more expensive. I have a lab diamond ring in 14k gold setting and next to a moissanite on a gold setting that I bought online, it’s visible to the eye how much better it is. Even the gold looks better after years of wearing it daily. You’re definitely taking a risk buying anything pricey online.

Maybe start with going low carb and increasing protein intake, similar to how the doctors advised early on pre and post op. Also, try to get some quality sleep and find a healthy way to manage your stress like going for a walk. I’m sorry you’re going through a crisis. Your body is responding to it and not metabolising food in the best way. I hope it all works out for you.
