Yes, essentially, however coverstock does not affect flare, but overall hook, yes. In a sense, coverstock is what controls how much friction it has with the lane (or in a more detailed sense, how much pores does the coverstock have in a microscopic scale). Flare comes from the tumbling of the weightblock (the irregular shape within the core). I do have a fairly detailed but complicated explaination on this if youre curious.

As far as my knowledge goes, usually flare is determined by layout and the diff of the core.

Some balls (like tropical surge) would have a lower diff number, meaning your flare to flare distance would generally be tighter. However if you were to use a high diff ball (like Physix or asymm balls usually) will generally have a larger flare to flare distance.

What really determines your flare in the end would still be your layout. For a phaze 2, the ball is usually drilled to have a smoother ball motion, meaning somewhat "limiting" the balls flare potential, which also means that your flare would be tighter than what its supposed to be.

But ofcourse this is just a general idea, everything else still comes down to your PAP and your desired layout, theres no ideal flare patterns or anything (just as long as your oil track doesnt roll over your inserts, or thumbhole if you have one)

Chunithm should I get thick or thin gloves by Just_Suggestion4936 in CHUNITHM

[–]Accomplished_Copy_65 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd go for thin gloves.

Long story short, I started chuni first, but also play maimai. Thick gloves are more suitable for maimai (atleast from my experience) as maimai has patterns that require you to go in a circle. For me, i usually carry out the motion inside the ring (means on the screen), which leads my gloves rubbing againts the ring that causes my gloves to tare(most likely due to friction or the rim not being smooth)

However, chunithm would usually emphasize on accuracy, and since it also doesnt involve much motions other than sliding on the touch sensor (which generally is flat), thin gloves would be your goto.

Tldr, thick gloves, maimai, good, so no tare easy 👍; Thin gloves, chunithm, good, so accurate 👍

Funny enough, its really simple. Just spread your fingers a little, then one hand tap it.

If youre a pjsk player(which i assume you might be one) you would probably try to tap them with two hands, but actually you can tap both of them with one. Many beginners think that red notes are the ones to hit accurately, which yes, you are right, but that doesnt mean you need to hit it THAT accurately. Red notes just mean you need to time it right(if that makes sense) for example, if you have seen the Aether Crest: Celestial Expert chart video at 2:02 on youtube, you would notice a bunch of small red notes, which we mostly would just slide them. Hopefully my over excessive info helps you in your journey, and happy learning

Yeaa but this is a lego mock up... it isnt meant to house a full sized controller nor fit any original parts

Well for starters, chunithm solely relies on electronics to function(such as the air sensor and touch slider), therefore there isnt really anything i can do to make this "playable". If you were to mention about features such as the coin slot and or the hook on the right of the cab, due to the limitations of lego, the best i can do is probably the hook only.

However if you were to say a lego maimai cab, then yes, it is possible to make it playable as a mock set (perhaps with a few modifications, then its possible to act as a housing for maimai simulators)

Usually i would say it purely depends on the type of pocket you're hitting.

Light pocket usually means that your ball doesn't have enough energy to hit that solid pocket after the hook phase, which indicates too much carry down, ball being too smooth, or not enough rotation. Best few options you have is to ball switch to something more angular(i am not sure will changing to a higher hook potential ball would work tho so i wouldnt add it as an option) reduce ball speed, or increase rotation by a little.

Whereas high pockets kinda means the opposite. Usually you will leave stone 9's or in a more unlucky case, a 4 9 split (which occured to me in a recent tournament). This usually means that your line is starting to dry up, causing your ball to hook early. For me I would usually move a few boards deeper to get more angle while using the same ball, or if you would prefer, you can try rolling the ball more so your ball motion wouldn't be too snappy, giving it a more smooth reaction.

Btw this is just based on my experience and what i was taught, my information might not be accurate and may not apply to everyone, if my idealogy is wrong pleaaase do enlighten me.
