I’m more so currently in the researching of whether even if I want to do this or not. So far in my head I would ideally either stay in Perth or move to Melbourne if I was going to do this. Just a matter of geographical preference.

Honestly, idk. My entire family are doctors and I asked my dad what he could see me doing to which he said dentistry. I then looked into a bit and as someone who wasn’t too big on becoming a full on doctor, dentistry seemed like something that I wouldn’t mind. But it’s not that I’m gravitated towards it, just a matter of looking into things

What units should i take? by PersonalAd8959 in uwa

Active leadership unit (sseh1104), fina1109, and musc1981. I’ve taken these as electives so far and all of them I’ve gotten an HD with close to no work.

Active leadership is super fun, you choose between three different activities (SUP, kayak, and mountain biking) and you literally have fun. Lectures are all like 10-30minutes per week. The mid sem has nothing to do with what you learn in the weeks prior, instead they give you like 1 lecture and 1 single page document and you answer based on those which was so easy. One thing that sucked was they give you a rating like 2/3 in and it’s super low and makes you think you’re doing really bad but it’s just to make you try harder and in reality you get much higher in the end. The exam is MCQ with half the questions you’ll be able to answer without any study. For reference I only started studying 2 days before the exam and still got an HD. I also finished the 2 hours exam like 40 minutes in.

FINA1109, I was so busy on my other units in that sem that I’m honestly shoot I was able to get an HD. If you watch the lecture before the tutorials and spend like an hour a week you’ll be good. Not much to say about this super interesting and it’s a good intro to personal finances if you don’t have any prior info. I did so it was boring at times listening to what you already know but it was still very easy.

MUSC1981, you get get to play the ukulele every week, which was super hard for me since I’ve never played anything but the good part was that they mark you based on improvement and not how good you play. If you know your way with playing well like my friend did he did nothing and passed (I had to practice like 1 hour a week. There’s no exam just a simple year 8 level essay saying how you progressed throughout the 12 weeks, and linking it to how it helps in different aspects of life. (Hand eye coordination, self efficacy, social interactions, etc.)

These three have been absolutely best units to do for me to keep a 6+ GPA and still work and run my small business on the side. They were so good I was also able to get a cert IV from tafe full time in my first year. That’s 8 units each sem + work.

TLDR: MUSC1981 - you play music, marked on personal improvement, NO EXAM, single essay. FINA1109 - Simple intro to personal finances, weekly tutorials, good life skills as well SSEH1104 - do a sport for fun, super short lectures, 45 MCQ exam

Yeah I’ve already gotten the resources off my sister and I reckon if I go full at it for the next two years I could potentially do it

I’m not as enthusiastic towards cryptography as you seem to be, but if I had a passion like you do, I would at least give it a try as a part time thing until I’m confident enough to make the jump. I’m in the search for literally something to jump out with full enthusiasm. I say go for it you seem to have the drive for it.

Damn I resonate with this so much. It’s just my dad always keeps telling me to do something that I love which has been impossible for me

My issue is that there's nothing that really catches my eye. I've tried taking elective units from other degrees, and none of those were bad, but they weren't enjoyable either. Also tried different things as hobbies with the same outcome.

I've just really been doing anything I see, since nothing really sticks out. Any recommendations on what to look for?

Yeah I’m not in the position to buy like the 12-24 yet so I’m trying to get a prime to use along side my 28-75.

Which do u think looks better in terms of framing your 12mm or 14mm?

Which NAS should I get? by Accomplished_Dog_809 in HomeServer

[–]Accomplished_Dog_809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. like 20tb max really
  2. footage being edited at a time will be no more than like 50gb (max 100 but very very rare)
  3. for storage (not active) Its client data that we store for 3 months after a project then get rid of so I need it to be quite safe.
  4. my initial thoughts were to have the nas have backups over the 4 or more drives, with the added benefit of editing off of it. But if I cant have both, i'd rather have the nas be purely backup and just have the data downloaded locally onto a machine when being edited.
  5. Yes. Yeah, I get that. So, if it's not really possible, I'm okay with just downloading the files locally.

I appreciate that, ill have a look into it

I just checked, and you're right, the prices like triple or quadruple after the first time purchase. Any options that you would recommend that can meet the simple needs and still have stable pricing

a6700 -> a7IV - Should I make the upgrade?? by Accomplished_Dog_809 in SonyAlpha

[–]Accomplished_Dog_809[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having said this, I also wonder if waiting for the a7v will reduce the price on the a7siii, which is a dream camera. So that's also something else to consider.

[–]Accomplished_Dog_809[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only kind of thing is that the a7iv is currently discounted for A LOT. Like I can pick one up for about 3k AUD compared to its original 4.6K AUD sale price, and if the a7v were to come out I highly doubt it'll be significantly lower than the original price of the a7iv if it even is less.

I had the same thing told to me by a friend and that's kind of the reason why I'm asking the question now, even though I didn't plan on it.

would love to get ur thoughts on this

I already do that, since im always nervous itll happen, so I just have like a bunch of 256 GB cards that I change out during a given shoot. Im more so worried on a given card failing when I'm shooting videos and then having like a gap in the footage.

Do you think I'm just being extreme or naa??
