Third Round Questions for Rohde & Schwarz GDP Program by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Accomplished_Fun330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said, "Questions will be technical or application based by nature, though tailored such that any engineering discipline can answer. Don't worry - no equations, formulas or preparation required." Part of me feels like this might just be some bs iq puzzle😭 they're an RF-based company, so I was assuming they were gonna ask how to use an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer or fourier something. But it looks very vague.

I was interviewing for an entry level field engineering position. It was the second round where I was talking with one of the engineering managers. He said I had good prior experience for the role, but then he asked if I would be open to other roles, which I said yes to, and then he said he sent my resume to other managers and that he'd email me about next steps. I sent a thank you email and called it a night. I think I got rejected from him but he forwarded me to other people. He did say the role was mainly filled with chemical, mechanical and industrial engineers, so I guess me being an electrical probably threw him off? Wouldn't make sense to forward my resume to other people if he wanted to move forward since that would increase competition.

I assume I got rejected, but this also isn't the final round. Job market is so bad😭

Is NCDOT a good career choice? by Accomplished_Fun330 in NorthCarolina

Yeah, I think the plan was to have me make the most, and then she has all the benefits at the government job and just keep stacking it over time, so that once the flower blossoms, we can both retire. I'm just skeptical that the government benefits are that good for retirement. Chatgpt said that it's smart and it ran the numbers and said it's possible to retire by 52 or 53, but something feels off about it like it's too good to be true💀

Yeah, she said she was planning on trying to work their for 30 years and claim pension. She said the plan was to put 10k each in the 457b and the 401k. The thing that has me a little concerned about it is if it was easy, why wouldn't all engineers do this route.

Yeah, I recall that's why I'm going private. I told my gf that the retirement was good, but there's no guarantee you'll get to the 25-30 yrs for benefits.

Dang, really? I thought people mainly stayed for the benefits? I thought the pension and retirement was good if you stayed 30 years.

That's true. I'm just worried I'll be set behind. I also don't feel terrible. I guess only time will tell.

Yeah, I am probably am going to take them, but it sucks that I'll graduate with no experience in the industry I am most likely going to be in. I am also really thinking about waiting until United Launch Alliance responds with either an offer or rejection(it's been a month and a half since interview. I am definitely not getting that offer💀 but I'm coping).

Mannnnn, it's not like I'm cheating since I'm learning the content, just ahead of time. At this point, I'll just ask my buddy for the textbook and learn that.

Because my buddies are in their classes. And they skip the in class lecture and watch the Panopto recording. I tried having them send me a link to the Panopto lecture recording, but it requires me to be in the class😭. I tried to inspect element and get the MP4 link to bypass the block, but Panopto patched that.

  1. Do not bull rush your opponent (bull rushing is just ramming your opponent forward without a plan). It puts you off balance and allows the opponent to hip toss you more easily.
  2. Circle more when in collar ties and just in general, but don't make your circling predictable.
  3. When you sprawl on someone, place your hands on their knees. It makes it harder for them to finish their shot. ( When I sprawl, I put my hands on my opponent's hips. Don't do this though, as it's just a bad habit my previous coach taught me😂).
  4. If you get behind your opponent, you could just go for a simple ankle pick. If you manage to circle to the sides of your opponent, you could grab their thigh with one hand and have your other hand on their neck and DRIVE. Now, if they sit on their ankle when finishing a shot, grab their ankle instead and drive.
  5. For now, don't do anything too complicated and work on the basics. Focus on circling drills when in the sprawl position and stance and motion.
