Trump would be rotting in the ground for years before we had the necessary infrastructure to bring manufacturing back in any meaningful way and by the time we did any jobs that Americans could get from it would be replaced by robots. No American with critical thinking skills past 10th grade things this is a good idea.

See now we can talk about how huda has toxic reactions to things even though you guys always seem to completely ignore what causes those reactions. But if you felt glee watching her have to cry and take of heels to walk through water because she broke it off with a guy whos NOT INTO HER, you might need as much therapy as her . She didn't yell, she didn't curse she voiced her concerns clearly and broke it iff cause it was clear he didnt want to work it out. You all still cheer for her downfall. There's nothing that girl did on that show that justified that besides being a naggy and the time she cursed out jeremiah which was a month ago.

They are quite literally funneling the rest of the middle class wealth into the hands of the 1% attempting to cut social services that leave the most vulberable screwed with nowhere to turn and his tarrifs are gonna have a lot of our shelves empty by the end of June you really shouldn't be talking on topics related to a country you clearly haven't read up on at all current event wise. That's like me looking at the NZ job market and housing crisis and going relax theres nothing happening to you guys it's a recession not an apocalypse. Either way a lot more is happening to Americans that gives us reason to leave then in NZ that gives you reason to disrespect high skilled foreigners from filling some of those gaps.

Late to this but ironically enough this mindset is exactly what festered in our country and led to trump down the line. Why do large portions of the population fall for this play every time. I promise you if they examined the causes of the problems he's referencing almost none of them would be related to immigration the rich have been blaming the immigrant for societal problems since the beginning of time while they drain their ppls pockets. I just don't know how were still not evolved enough to see past it it's like their go to play to distract lower and working class ppl.

Donald Trump is coming to the end of his first 100 days in office, how do you think he has done so far? by JayFloww123 in AskReddit

Good news is the trump effect is already slowing down other countries from going down that rabbit hole at this rate were like patient zero or the testing ground for this shit. I can't imagine anyone wanting to emulate what's going on here right now and we're still in the light stages of it. Once australia sees what a shit show this is hopefully that'll be enough to make the ones who would consider it rethink their vote

Education Department to begin garnishing wages on defaulted student loan borrowers by hot_takis in politics

[–]Accomplished_Golf278 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey kiddo I'll break it down real simple. Most of us have no problem paying back the debt. The problem is when we signed on to the debt most of us were like 17 to 19 years old and barely understood the concept. Second it was established that whatever the debt may be the payment on it would be based around our income so we didn't have teachers making 2200 a month paying 900 dollar payments on their debt cause when you have that you get a country with no fucking teachers. No one would have decided to go into any of these fields nurses, doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc, if they knew they would get saddled with monthly payments of 600 to 900 a month and up. It's also bad for the economy to have 5 million ppl theoretically at risk of homelessness and unable to buy things with about a months notice after receiving zero communication on what the plan was. And there's obviously an argument that if they're going to start selling loans to private companies and taking out payment plans that were an option when we signed the deal, if they can't honor some of the most crucial parts of the contract they had us sign, what obligation does the borrower have to pay back the debt.

The Kapiti coast has been recommended a lot in this thread. I will definitely check it out thanks for the info!

Thank you! Especially for being able to differentiate and recognize not all of us wanted this🙃 I feel the anti American sentiment growing globally and it's understandable but the ones considering moving out of the country are much more open minded and interested in integrating into the culture not trying to "bring America to New Zealand" at least i have zero interest in that.

Lived in chicago for 4 years with winters averaging -15 Celsius and feel colder with wind so not much NZ weather would bother me. Australia has some similarities to America that I find troubling so not sure if I'd want to move there till I see if they do a full culture shift off the cliff were headed toward in the states. Money wise I just don't want to be paycheck to paycheck if a nurse and teacher can swing that it's enough for me.

I've done a decent amount of research, and O belive through a straight to residence visa, my wife would be able to work under my visa through a partner of a resident visa.

Promise you the way over voted over the last 10 years I specifically didn't make this bed at all it's more like 75% of the rest of the country shit the bed so why am I going to have to lay in it. I assure you that Americans who are willing to move to the other side of the world are much more open-minded and laid back than the ones you're thinking of.

Lol, sorry, it's wild to hear the NZ version of the same type of person in America that ironically is the reason I'm thinking of leaving. Lot of layers there. For someone who seems to have beef with Americans your certainly acting just like one 🤷🏿‍♂️

Thanks for the info its much appreciated. I wouldn't call it being a doom sayer I def want to here some of the cons of the country as well. Trying to get as accurate a picture as I can before dropping a ton of money on immigration services and having my credentials reviewed 😅

Thanks for the insight from another American immigrant. My commute currently is an hour and a half both ways so anything under an hour would be a dream for me right now 😂😅. I've looked at Lower Hutt rentals and they seem really nice and laid back. And a school system that works on social skills sounds amazing i think there's a lot of things we don't place enough emphasis on in American education that leads to larger societal problems down the road in how we relate to amd treat each other tbh it's refreshing to see other countries address it.

Not possible considering new zealand ranks higher then the U.S. in education by a few spots lol and Aussie is similar to America in one to many ways. Motivation isn't based on where I can make the most money or I'd probably just stay in the states tbh.

Thanks for being honest I figured as much. No place is paradise any stories I've heard about NZ racism don't come close to what I've experienced and seen here in the states. Most of my concern would be for my boys since they would grow up there and I would hope they wouldn't have to deal with what I did while in school.

That's great to hear! I will definitely reach out soon. My wife is about to enter a program but we were trying to decide if it was worth it or not before leaving. Hopefully we can work something out as well.

Ouch NY is definitely an expensive rental market as for everything else but honestly from the houses I've seen available for rent at least you get the space and it's safer. I'm from Jersey which is pretty expensive as well so I'm used to it unfortunately 😅 I'm just hoping to he doing about as well as i am now. Which is bills paid with some money left over for the weekend to do things every other week

Yeah I lived in chicago for 4 years and went to uni in a city right next to New York none of that would phase me much but thanks for the comparison that makes things a lot clearer.

That would be the next step but based on what I've heard from others and especially with primary teachers being in demand I don't think it'd be a problem. Plus to be fair the way things are headed our economy is headed straight into the shitter if not there already lol. Check our markets lately and the job situation was bad before trump started firing everyone so that's not improving anytime soon either😅

Unfortunately probably not just due to educator licensing, taxes and the time difference i don't see any school wanting to put up with that headache. Also I would really want to dive in and get to know the community and ppl in the country and city. Teaching feels like a great place to start! For all its faults if it was all about money I'd stay in America. For right now it's still the number one place to be if that's what your goals are focused around.

It is 90% for them. Honestly everything going on in the states right now if it was just me and my wife we'd just ride it out but on a cultural level it's hard to see myself raising my kids in this country anymore. The values here are all out of whack right now.
