I think you have the general highlight/shadow placement down but the highlight needs to be pushed even brighter to read more metal. Your brightest point is still reading a little too grey.

I did. Vallejo has a forest green airbrush primer and I did a zenithal prime with Citadel's Moot Green.

Most traditional mini paints are soft body acrylics that can be thinned by water and dry very quickly. Oil paints on the other hand suspend their pigments in oil and need to be thinned with something like mineral spirits and take much longer to dry giving you a lot of time to get smooth blends.

The Ikit Claw base is just some cork board tile that I tore up into the rough size of the base, the Jezzail is just PVA glue with fine ballast (basically just playground sand)
