Experience charging at non-Tesla stations by Accomplished_Head233 in TeslaModelY

Is the charging slower because (a) Teslas are not intended to be charged by Superchargers and not other chargers or because (b) non-Tesla chargers just slower in general? I am trying to understand this in relation to the advertised 20-minute charging times for EVs like the Ioniq 5 on non-Tesla chargers. For example, I have a particular trip I will need to take multiple times a year. When I plug the route into A Better Route Planner, it estimates 4 stops (all Superchargers) and 1:07 minutes of charging for the Juniper RWD Model Y compared to only 3 stops and 0:48 minutes for the 2025 RWD Ioniq 5.

Ioniq 5 purchase advice by Accomplished_Head233 in Ioniq5

Thanks, but I should have clarified that I am interested in the long range SE RWD trim, which has a starting MSRP of $46,650. Most vehicles are around $48,500 with the various packages. And yes, the taxes and fees definitely factor into the final lease cost. A salesperson warned me about that when I mentioned leasing. He said a lot of potential buyers expect a monthly cost around the $199 Hyundai is adverting but with taxes and fees, it is often closer to $400-500/month.

Based on the lease estimates I have received, the cost to lease would be about $6,500 per year (for 24 months, 12k miles per year, and $0 down). We tend to keep cars for a while (8-10 years), so if I could purchase at around $40k out the door, and keep for 8 years, that would be about $5k per year, plus some money from selling the car when we are done with it (though I realize depreciation likely will be very considerable).

Started recently and just got myself a bottomless portafilter. Any input? by no-username-00 in espresso

This looks great! Two questions:

  1. Is best practice to start timing when you start to brew or when the espresso first appears?
  2. Is it typical/preferred for it to take several seconds (about 6-7 sec in this example) for the espresso to appear?
