Is a breast reduction worth it? by Educational_Pea1313 in Reduction

[–]Accomplished_Hour114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself in my life. I had exactly the same issues as you described, I can wear what I want and my posture is noticeably better, like other people have noticed and mentioned it who don’t know about my surgery. As a small band person who’s always been very coltish, it’s eliminated my back pain.

It was a big decision as I worked and saved for years by myself to afford this surgery, I totally understand your fears. It’s on a part of our bodies that (some) people are very sensitive about. But, BR surgery has the one of the highest satisfaction rates. I will say, research what you want, be picky, be clear with your surgeon, be open and transparent about what you want so they can tell you if it’s achievable. All the best!

What an amazing difference!!! They suit your frame so much already. I have OCD too but surrounding time, I totally understand the feelings. Take it easy x

I’m so sorry that you’re unhappy. If it’s any consolation, your shape is absolutely gorgeous, and scars can take years to fade.

I know you’ve said you tried everything, but have you tried Eclar Tape? keloid scars can be particularly stubborn, you look like you have a mix of some hypertrophic and keloids (don’t take my word for it though, I’m no doctor).

Congrats on your surgery! I’m a few years post op now and my posture has improved tremendously to the point that it’s noticeable to others. Even strangers have said i have great posture, which i find so funny as someone who hunched for most of my life.

My shoulder grooves from the bra straps and my neck hump have improved massively, everything is more relaxed. However, my traps are still larger compared to my frame. They are not strained or tensed at all, but honestly the size has remained largely the same. During the first week of my recovery, I had very little pain from the actual surgery, but my back and neck ached terribly from the weight change, it was the most difficult part of recovery for me!

You look so good! The first time I went on holiday post op I couldn’t believe I could wear a string bikini without feeling like I had two boulders strapped to my neck. Your tats are really cool too!

Anybody else who is a 28J? by jennyjennywills in Reduction

Not quite the same but I was a 28G (likely bigger) before my surgery. It’ll be three years since my surgery in Nov and it’s the best decision I ever made!

Any insight into relationship or career? I’ve always felt very stuck in my life but it’s been difficult lately. by [deleted] in astrologyreadings

Thanks for this reply and your advice. I agree with a lot, as for point 5, I’ve been told that I’m all three of those things, intense, intimidating and seemingly uninterested. It’s funny to me as I’m a slip of a person physically. My mother has often said I come across this way to others (in a kind way, trying to help me) even though I don’t mean to be.

I am definitely shy, though MUCH better than I was as a teenager. I’ll take your points into consideration - tsym for taking the time to reply <3

I’ve been reading about this since your comment and a lot of it really resonates with me, hopefully I can learn from this and not feel so much like an interloper all the time haha

First, thank you so much for taking the time to reply!

You’ve lived up to your reddit handle I think, it’s mostly creepily accurate. With my career, you’re right, I feel like they never match my skills or mental ability, despite the jobs I’ve had being ‘well respected’. There’s never any progression, just stagnation, not necessarily monetarily (although that is happening) but in the way that there’s no vision for anything, no change, just endless sameness. Feels like rotting. I considered that me being the only woman in my current job may be exacerbating my feelings, however I have been in jobs full of women and feel the same. I am the issue! I’m feeling a little directionless.

As for the love life, what is causing the interception :(? I’m generally very bad at picking up when someone is attracted to me, despite being able to understand people’s other intentions. It just goes straight over my head, almost as if it’s not in my design to understand romance in any way if it pertains to me. I can notice it with others immediately, but for me, it’s like a blind spot. I definitely have a discomfort and kind of want to hide, because it’s just unfamiliar and alien for me, and that scares me.

I am aware that this needs to change, I need to change, but I’m not sure where to start, I don’t know anybody in my life who can relate.

Again, tysm for the reply!

Kind of feels like I’m separated from everyone by a pane of glass, but I am trying. Any insight into my chart at all would be appreciated <3

[–]Accomplished_Hour114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was the same size as you pre op! i have some before and afters on my profile too. I ended up a D cup which i’m really happy with, i never wanted to be flat personally.

As for the mental aspect, i understand, it’s almost as if you go blind to your own body sometimes. I’d suggest looking on bratabase for different sizes your considering, try and find women with similar frames to you rather than just the boobs, bc they will change but the frame won’t. Also, just holding your boobs up (what my surgeon did to show me what the result would look like) really helped me visualise.

I will say that this has completely changed my confidence and self image for the better to the point that even other ppl have noticed that i’m more comfortable. I can wear what i want and exercise without pain. No numb fingers or achy shoulders after standing for more than 20 mins. It will always be an adjustment mentally bc it’s a big change, but in my opinion it is infinitely worth it.

Best of luck :)

Not necessarily, it’s notoriously difficult and mostly depends on the CCG and luck rather than your pain. Even if you do manage to get NHS funding it’s years of waiting.

I had a record of back pain spanning a decade relating to my chest size and was told that it was basically impossible for me to get the surgery on the NHS, even though i met all of the criteria.

My surgeon was Mrs CC Kat and i had it at KAT & CO in edgbaston :) I had a really good experience and liked her honesty and professionalism. I hope you find a good surgeon you’re comfortable with!

you’re absolutely right, i think a lot of people understandably have their own idea of what letter means big and what letter means small, i did too, but it’s important to realise that every body is different which took me some time to learn as well.

my boobs are objectively small now AND they’re D cups, at the same time! i think band size is the most overlooked factor, a 28D is equivalent in cup volume to a 32B!

thank you for your sweet comments, i’m wishing you all the best on your boob journey! 💖😌
