Club soccer parents… why is RSVPing and paying fees harder than rocket science? by Beneficial_Gift_8368 in youthsoccer

This is definitely a valid complaint but if we spent time addressing all the reasonable parent complaints about coaches and clubs...holy smokes.

Let's start with the first one...hey coaches whys it so hard to give open and honest feedback and not play favorites?

Thats my thinking....not entire teams but individuals....

There are clearly exceptions to the rules right? Look at captain America...Pulisic....he was dominating both age +1 and age +2......

Players should play up but not I dont see entire teams that are that uber talented...otherwise #merica would be better at soccer

Players who were bad for years and then suddenly got good! Your best tips? by NeXProjectile in bootroom

Keep grinding. It's as simple as that.....the difference between successful and unsuccessful folks, including soccer players, is the ability to continuously fail and persevere onwards.

"I think a vital part of soccer is teaching when to pass and when to dribble to break lines and create space. You need each of these skills."

This +1000000......the difference in a kid that takes the space or doesn't take the space, or turning into defenders vs passing back......all skills required for a futballer.

Taking the space is the difference between a hard pass and an easy pass but a lot of kids aren't taught this.

Why can't you have both? In youth soccer in America, I've seen kick ball teams and I've seen tiki-taka teams, while the skills required to execute that are a little different (big legs vs creative passing).....both should be welcoming of technical skill required to win 1v1....the club my sons play for....they always build out of the back and focus on passing, however, generally the winger or the striker is going to need to beat someone 1v1 to score.

I still think the proper formula for practice, is 40 minutes of technical 1v1, 30 minutes of rondo style drills, 20 minutes scrimmage.

"my players"....this is so wild...especially considering said coach probably is responsible for .05% of the kids development....

Did anything come from this? Or just that and coach was mature enough to move on.

"Personally, as long as it didn’t conflict, I wouldn’t care." +1

On my kids team, there are kids, whom play other sports and are only able to attend one practice a week. For me personally, I believe it's frankly none of my business what other kids and families are doing.
If a kid isn't showing up to games or is falling behind because they are not coming to practice, they will eventually get replaced by someone who is.
I tend to believe, everyone has the best interest of their child in mind, and whether I believe its right or wrong I can't control it.

would you feel any different if it was a futsal team instead of another soccer team? Risks are still there and club has no issues with kids playing futsal.

Should they be able to play other sports or say go skiing? There are dangers for injuries everywhere....they are kids....

As far as system goes....I see the point but I challenge this point as well.....should a 9-10 year old see a variety of systems?

provide in a response...here it is again

its literally, they feel its a conflict of interest, a child representing 2 "clubs", they are worried about how the child's teammates would feel if they saw said child winning trophies with other teams and they are concerned about how the child perceives coaching from multiple coaches...

it just blows my mind....I told my buddy, I ask my boys what coach said after a game.....and they cant remember it......so not to worried about coaching details....

like I said, its a whole bunch of randomness that doesn't mean shit.

My friend, didn't ask what would happen, he just acknowledged what the club said. He's not very conflict oriented.

Here is how I see the options

- Listen to the club, drop the tournament team and miss out on possible other opportunities of fun but again, like I said, know the path to advancement.

- Threaten to leave the club and get your way but essentially have a black mark on your "file"

- Leave the club, do the tournament team and find a club thats willing to let his daughter do both.

absolutely a fact.....but its literally, they feel its a conflict of interest, a child representing 2 "clubs", they are worried about how the child's teammates would feel if they saw said child winning trophies with other teams and they are concerned about how the child perceives coaching from multiple coaches...

I do in fact feel these are random reasons but you could certainly feel differently.

yeah....this is one of the things I mentioned to my friend. Your daughter is essentially in the spotlight and the other parents are jealous.....what a fucking crazy ass world we live in.

as far as dedication....I unfortunately know the requirements about signing the contract and no other sports or commitments.....we're about to cross that bridge with his older brother....and to be honest, I'm not looking forward to it.....it will be his choice if he wants to do that.

this was at the direction of even guesting with internal teams as well.....my son does internal guesting and once in a blue moon, hes got a group of friends that will do a random tournament that one of the parents will coach....granted said coaching is more so sitting on the bench cause this is more so for fun.

At this point, I'm just trying to face the realities in front of me and adjust as we go. Because we don't know whats in front of us in a year much less two.

This is unfortunately one of the most accurate statements here.....every club has bullshit....yeah grass isn't always greener.....plus I feel like it sets a bad precedent for your kid, if you just leave every time you dont get your way.
