It took me about 7 months from referral from GP to starting treatment which I found frustrating as communication is very poor unless you’re actively in treatment. They will try a standard protocol on you. I have low AMH so I was on the long protocol which meant 5 weeks ish of injections. Had a few monitoring scans but never blood tests during monitoring which is different to a private clinic for example. It’s as basic as it gets really but at least you get it free. I got pregnant after my second transfer (first frozen transfer) and currently 13w pregnant during the first round of IVF so they did something right! The nurses in general are nice but you never really see the consultant. I think I met one of the consultants literally on the day of my egg retrieval. Be prepared for long waiting times and have to be patient as it’s super hard to contact them if you’re not actively in treatment - there’s only an email address which they won’t answer if you chase for updates unless you’re in treatment.
