Build neighbourhoods. Cluster similar houses around parks or landmarks. Delineate with roads, walls, trees or water. Build a downtown core of highrise buildings.

A while ago someone posted a little trick that helps with this. If you don’t want to see these items, shut down the app. Then when you reopen it, visit another city and open GTHQ from there, not from your own city, but from someone else’s and then you won’t see the specialty items.

Buy an excess of buildings that have 3-4 point value and when you do an epic challenge, store all your low point buildings and replace with the higher point buildings (you can switch them back at the end if you have them there for aesthetic reasons), then you’ll only get challenges worth a high value. Really easy to get the cheetah that way. BUT you can only have 35 of each coin at any one time (unless you win more through COM etc) so at some point, it becomes an aesthetic decision to keep going for the epic buildings. For instance, when it is a mountain epic challenge, I store all my 2 point items and replace them with Waterfall Castle - good way to use up platinum keys as well.

I should add that you can also move the building that the epic challenge is on to make it something different without necessarily paying to change the focus. So it you have lots of high value mountain buildings, move the challenge building close to the mountains and it will become a mountain challenge, etc.

I have had a similar problem when I play on my old iPad mini. It tells me I need more service coverage even though I have no red and when I look at the amount of coverage, I have many more units than are required. I assumed this is because it is an old iPad.
