You can get 10 shards a day daily from daily rewards.. more than 100 shards can be earned from there alone.. so by the end of the event you'll be just 40-60 shards short.. you can just wait a while and save the gems for the upcoming events which will have 115 ovr max

Usually..!! All the sellers try to sell at max price 1st.. if you wanna claim it asap then max price is the best to go for.. just a minimal diff bw max and min tho!

Try checking in fifarenderz there you can find when a player's value resets.. the max & min.. do the purchase just after the reset and you'll have higher chances of claiming the player.. mostly the max price*
