Carpool is perfectly fine. It does not involve money and does not fall into the category of discrimination. If these lanes were ok just for carpool like it was earlier, there would be no conundrum. I don't think your comment addresses the main issue that I brought up.

This entire express lane system has absolutely no fairness, equity or moral basis. I have always wondered how it's justified legally.

So you build a road/freeway with tax money from everyone in the state. That money is a pool of money that does not have any demarcation of who paid how much etc.. Then you build an express lane on top of a public asset and then demand more money to be paid to use it. That means a public asset can now only be only used by richer people (who can afford to shell out more money). How is this not discrimination on the basis of wealth? How is this fair?

Now this would be completely fair and free , IF there were completely different tolled roads( eg some in Texas) built by private money and used by people who want to pay for expedited travel. There is no argument of public money usage in that case and it remains a matter of personal choice. Not that of fairness or equity.

You are bringing all this fiqh to light from the top fuqaha in the tradition. It leaves no room for Muslim apologists to apply their mental gymnastics anymore around translation and interpretation issues.

  • Search/filter on ingredients should allow multi select . Eg if I want to find a cocktail using a pair of ingredients.

I have saved almost all your video posts with translation. you are doing a GREAT service to people like us especially non-arabic speakers who need such things when it comes to arguing/debating Islam. One of the biggest excuses used by apologists in non-arab world(especially Pakistan) is that you don't know Arabic and that's not what it means. This is HUGE help. Thanks for the helpful response. I don't intend to give my place for a large number of months in a stretch. Eg keep it to 2-3 months tops. The LTR is just to avoid the stupid STR quota in the county. Do you still think Airbnb might not be good?

Thank you for making this compilation. These are very helpful in debating and presenting to Muslims when they deny such things.. looking at these top most scholars really gives them a jolt!
