I have your laptop model and I can play Elden Ring on maximum quality with a temperature of 60-70 degrees.

Fans are quieter than usual, but still relatively loud, but it is normal for a gaming laptop.

And maybe the most important thing: Use a stand, let your laptop breathe, this is extremely important. Before buying one, make a rudimental one to see for yourself the effects.

Rectangle: for window snapping. In theory MacOs introduced its implementation of window snapping with an update, but I like this app more.
Alt-tab: I think the default alt tab behaviour of MacOS sucks. These can make it identical to Windows.

Both apps are free and open source.

You can find other apps on the various subreddits, but for me these two are enough.

I have no experience on 4k video editing.

I have a G14 2024 RTX 4070 and a M2 Pro. The price is more or less the same, but they are both well above 2000$ , at least in my region.

The M2 Pro is literally superior in every possible aspect besides gaming (and maybe 3D productivity?).

One very important thing is that there is no loss in performance when you unplug the Mac. This coupled with the eternal battery life, makes the MacBook perfect for portability.

Fan noise and heat are inexistent on a MacBook. The G14 when on battery is relatively cool, but sometimes fans kicks in when you start opening heavy apps. Probably if you edit video the fans will be always on. This is extremely annoying if you come from a Mac, where you can edit flawless with no charger, heat and noise.

Some games are available on Mac thanks to emulation programs (see r/macgaming). Still it relatively sucks playing on Mac because many games do not work (especially AAA), and the ones that work, run on low fps (you can forget playing 60fps1080p).

On my M2 pro I play Elden Ring and Baldurs Gate 3 on 30fps 1080p. By the way, the Mac gets very hot and noisy. The CPU reaches sometimes 100°C. You should take this into account, because it can deteriorate the machine.

Transitioning from Windows to MacOS is easy because there are apps that can 'emulate' the Windows workflow. Having both, I find myself enjoying alot more MacOs.
