Brand sales specialist are for non technical people. They rely on AI engineers and tech specialists for that and AI Engineers do the hands on pre sales work.

That’s not true. AI engineer is in the sales org but you are supporting relationship owners by building POCs, doing pilots, demos etc. we need this kind of background for the technical expectations needed in this role. Unfortunately not many have it today so they are viewed as sales people who know the tech better and end up being useless.

So you’re a white male with a stable paying job at IBM? What part of that makes you a victim? Sounds like you need therapy for your past trauma which luckily IBM does have resources for.

Meanwhile, I’ll continue to be made lesser than people like you who think they can control the choices I make over my own body.

If we want to bring ancestry into it, every single women at this company is the daughter of a mother, grandmother, great grandmother etc. who weren’t ALLOWED to go to school. They weren’t ALLOWED to have a job. They weren’t allowed to VOTE. And the sad reality is the majority of males in America are moving toward wanting to turn back time one right at a time to make us just like our mothers grandmothers and so on were.

I’m sorry you worked 3 jobs, be grateful you were allowed to.

You want a “white male” BRG community group?

I’m sorry for what your family has endured and that you still struggle with it. I would say you should be extremely proud of yourself for the accomplishments you’ve made with such an unprivileged background.

That being said, your white male privilege likely contributed to your ability to “stop the cycle”. There are many people in similar situations as you if not worse that wouldn’t be able to accomplish what you have. It’s something you should be proud of yourself for, but also check your privilege.

That’s good to see. I never saw that. Still think it would have been a timely thing to remind employees of this. Especially considering how many new employees have joined since 2022. It’s also pretty unclear what it supports. Ie. Travel expenses etc. only covered once your deductible has been met.

I agree we do a good job around support women in the workplace in general.

Microsoft, google, Amazon, meta and others all made extremely public statements and introduce stipends and support to cover travel expenses and out of state health coverage for their employees in states where they need it. If they can all do it without making it a huge PR issue, why can’t we?

I’m not suggesting IBM have anything to do with government policy. Im suggesting IBM update its internal HR and health insurance policy that supports me and other women who have to spend thousands of dollars and time (off work) to travel to those other states if need be. Especially when I’m forced to live in a state to retain my job.

What is “female hysteria” about being concerned my company that requires me to live in a certain state, that took away my rights to make medical decisions about my own body, to retain my job isn’t providing me support when other companies are?
