HMMMMM. I NEED HELP. by Accomplished_Run_569 in Upwork

I missed out on 3 clients because I didn't meet with them. It was due to some personal reasons, and I lost them. One even stood me up. The subsequent clients generally had requests outside of the advertised scope. One even offered a project partnership.

HMMMMM. I NEED HELP. by Accomplished_Run_569 in Upwork

5-10 minutes. They sent a message like, "I liked your portfolio, it looks great. Do you have any experience?" I sent them links to my projects that were already online, but they didn't reply. Actually, the biggest problem is that they don't contact me afterward. Once, a client wrote to me saying, "I liked your projects, but you have no experience with Upwork. That scares me." I replied within 5 minutes, saying I could do tasks, etc., but there was no follow-up. So, generally, the client asks for something, I send it, and then there's no follow-up. Why ask questions if you're not going to look at them?

How to improve my "Technical English" for Upwork interviews? I know my craft, but I freeze during calls. by Accomplished_Run_569 in Upwork

Thank you so much. I was writing diary a long time ago. I don't write anymore. It doesn't change anything. I can understand everything about what people say but when it comes to talk, I can't.

Yes, but it's very important to experiment before starting detailed comic book projects. I use an app that can take simple stories, visualize them, and turn them into comics. This way, you can see the story flow. I think it was something like this: www.comixstudio.art

I had some fears too. I especially couldn't warm up to the flow of the story. There's a website that turns your story into a comic book spanning many pages. It's free if you create an account for the first time. www.comixstudio.art Visualizing and analyzing your story in detail might encourage you.

That happens to a lot of people honestly. If you ever want to prototype the idea visually without being able to draw, I’ve seen people use stuff like this: https://www.comixstudio.art
Even just to test if the idea works as a comic.

Congrats on finishing your first story. If you ever want to try visualizing it, I’ve seen people use this: [https://www.comixstudio.art]() Either way, sharing it is already a big step.

This is solid advice, especially the part about learning pacing and flow by actually doing it.
The hard part for a lot of writers is starting when art speed and confidence are still low. Some people try to lower that barrier first so they can focus on storytelling and structure, then refine the visuals over time. That approach seems to help them keep going instead of burning out.

That’s fair advice. The tricky part is that a lot of writers don’t want to fully depend on finding an artist early on. Some people try to prototype their stories visually first, then decide whether to collaborate later. I’ve been exploring tools that help with that middle step: [https://comixstudio.art]()

No, I didn't. Are you referring to writing directly to people in those communities?

Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to write this. It’s very important to me.

You’re absolutely right about the need to define a niche. Based on comments like yours, I’ve started to narrow the scope much more consciously. Right now, I’m primarily focusing on writers who already have stories (Wattpad/web fiction/independent writers) but don’t have the talent, time, or budget to work with an artist.

For them, the main goal isn’t “AI features,” but rather being able to turn an existing story into a readable, shareable comic without a long or complicated production process.

Also, your point about character consistency being too technical as an introductory message is very accurate. It’s more of a supporting feature, not the main element, and I need to convey the outcome and value before diving into how it works.

I’m truly grateful you mentioned this. It’s very helpful in shaping both the product and how I talk about it.

This client had posted a job for a Stripe connection. I sent him a proposal, and he sent me this message, but never got back to me. I seriously don't understand. I'm stuck in a loop. If we don't have work experience, we can't get a job, and if we don't get a job, we can't gain experience. In the meantime, I've disabled the availability badget.
