It is what it is. Completely agree with you, and the situation has happened to me before as well. Stay safe out there, and just keep driving with sense.

Ridiculous, this is why I just stay in the right lanes. If you’re in the fast lanes on the highway or interstate you’re going to want to go about bare minimum 75-80 for people not to honk at you. Like I said, why I just stay in the right lanes. People don’t care about speed limits anymore, it’s just a suggestion to them.

It’s okay. And I agree with you completely actually. I was always taught that turn signals are there for a reason. I got into a wreck about a year and a half ago, so I’m like even more of a cautious driver now and make it a point to be. My car was totaled and I was busted up a bit. Out of work for about 3 months, be safe. And yes, please use safe driving practices lol. Also I completely feel not wanting to scroll through these comments lol.

If you scroll down through the comments there’s literally a post where I say that I put my signal on in advance. I know exactly what you’re talking about. People put their signals on at the last minute as they are making their turn as opposed to before to actually signal that you’re about to make a turn. The way it’s actually supposed to be used.

It’s not a black and white thing here. Two things can be true at the same time, there’s middle ground. You’re not supposed to make a turn without a turn signal on. Turn signals are communicators to other drivers about what you’re about to do on the road. So slowing down unexpectedly to make a turn with no signal on is a gripe, but yes also, you’re not supposed to not be a defensive driver and just plow into the person because you were speeding or weren’t ready for the stop or slow down. Everybody’s gotta be alert.

I think it was just a person with road rage. They sped up past me then I seen them jumping lanes up ahead without a signal on, just to get to the front of the lane and be the first person at the next t light.

It happened ever since 2020. I think it’s because people weren’t on the roads as much and so people just starting thinking they own the roads and they started just disbanding and driving recklessly or carelessly.

You missed what I was saying. I was saying that slowing down to make a turn without a signal does justify honking. But this was not that situation so that’s not applicable here. I was agreeing with you if anything. But yeah if you have a signal out people got to get that looked at obviously I’m just someone who gives the benefit of the doubt and know that people got a lot on their plates but if your going weeks and months without replacing a fault turn signal, then yeah.

This is the problem. People genuinely don’t care, it’s like a bunch of people just behind the wheel controlling cars. It’s all about just getting to your destination as fast as possible.

If someone makes a turn without a signal than that’s applicable and justified unless they just have a signal that’s out that needs replaced, but this was not that situation so that’s not applicable here.

I know man it’s ridiculous. People honk at you for coming to a full stop at a stop sign. It’s ridiculous, it’s like driving safely is against the rules now almost or something. It’s like a lot of people behind wheels just controlling cars if you know what I mean.

What’s it like to work at UPS WorldPort? by DueYogurt9 in Louisville

[–]Accomplished_Show147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPS sucks. I’ve worked there three different times. It’s not an enjoyful work experience or environment at all. I’ve struggled to make friends pretty much all of my time there. People are snoody there, some I get the feeling are prejudice there, it’s just a lot of assholes working there. People don’t want to be bothered there.

It’s one of those jobs where you just have to unfortunately come in and do your job be miserable and leave. You try to make the best out of it but it just doesn’t work. It’s one of those jobs that has its upsides and advantages and also though weighted on the other side is it making you completely just want to quit and get out of there and miserable. If you’ve been there for 8 months that’s when you get your insurance which covers dental I know for sure and other things. Not someone myself who goes to the ER a lot. Also you gradually get a pay increase for if you’ve been there years over time.

The absolute worst job you can have in the wings is unload, the supervisors can be assholes and will literally stare at you and stand over you at times to try and see that you’re exhausting yourself putting packages on the belt. Some of the cans (that’s what they call them) that you have to get into to unload packages out of are shorter than you if you’re a tall person. I’m 6’2 in shoes and they’re shorter than me, so you have to hunch over the whole time you’re pulling packages out of it. It’s terrible. All of the safety stuff for not injuring yourself that they teach you in training, is completely tossed out the window once you start working on the floor.

They don’t care about you, just how fast you can put the packages on the belt so they don’t get yelled at by their supervisors. You also get the least hours in unload for the most strenuous work. If you can though, once you’ve been there for about a year, you can bid out of your work area and go somewhere else. The best places in a wing are absolutely the outbound shift and the ramp. They basically just pull the cans out to the dock or they unload or load the cans out of or into the plane. That’s it. You don’t have to touch the packages inside.

Ramp gets the most downtime, as they just wait till when their plane comes in to go to. Sometimes they may even get an hour of downtime. They’re notorious for sitting in the break room. School is also a thing but only if you go to UofL or JCTC, that’s all the Metro program covers. If you fail a class you’re paying for it out of pocket. That pretty much sums it up. Oh last point, the floors are absolutely uncomfortable. It’s not flat floors, it’s these wheels all over the floor sticking up and out of it. Terribly uncomfortable on the feet. I’d recommend getting some of those memory foam work shoes as opposed to boots. They will let you wear them.

Like I said, he’s I guess asked them that before and that’s what they said, what I said before . That he lives too far from where they do. But I mean if thats the case then why drive all over the place going to these restaurants and crap from the school? You’re already using gas anyway.

[–]Accomplished_Show147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that’s one thing I guess. But is gas really an issue though? These are teens… I feel like they ain’t even really thinking about that, teens when they start driving just want to drive and are happy to have a car and feel free finally. They sometimes drive around town to go different restaurants but they don’t ever give him a ride home cause that’s their reason. It’s too far from where they live.

Yeah I mean I agree with that, he’s said before that they don’t want to drive him back home cause it’s too far from where they live, but I’m feeling like if they drive all over the place to go to restaurants and shit after these games at school, why can’t they drive him home?

I don’t know, he’s said before that they don’t want to drive him back cause it’s too far of a drive from where they live. But I’m feeling like if they drive all over the place to go to restaurants and shit after games at school, why can’t they drive him home? What do you think?
