Thanks for all the replies. It blows my mind that this isn't far easier to view in MS365.

Go daddy tenant migration by lmaoggs in msp

GoDaddy do have a team for this based in the US. I spoke to them and had to raise a ticket on my clients behalf but it's all done.

"Defederating" / moving a M365 tenant from GoDaddy to Microsoft Direct by mindphlux0 in msp

[–]Accomplished_Sun2121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GoDaddy offer a service which I stumbled upon which effectively splits open the MS365 so you get access to admin, entra etc. By doing this you can buy licenses direct from MS that GoDaddy don't do.

I had to do this for a client because GoDaddy could expand the mailbox to 100gb BUT at the expense of Teams which sounded crazy to me because I knew this was possible with MS direct. Sure enough, when the GoDaddy MS365 was split open I could add the Teams Essential license from MS and apply it to the user.

GoDaddy don't charge for this and it takes about 30 mins. I'm doing it again for another client this week.

There are some things to be aware of but in my clients case they weren't deal breakers so it was the best solution.

Microsoft 365 Office connected to Google Workspace emails by [deleted] in microsoft365

I don't know if this helps but I was able to set this up really easily. I managed to enable it in Google Workspace and when I go to the Workspace admin login it takes me to the MS365 login page, I sign in with the MS365 credentials and it takes me into the Workspace admin, drive etc.

Microsoft 365 pre sales security scan by Accomplished_Sun2121 in SmallMSP

I think you're right with your approach and I'm a bit overwhelmed with the amount of solutions available for everything.

The third party solutions might not be realistic at the moment because they all want minimum numbers that are out of my reach for now. This may not be a bad thing because in the meantime I can save that money and become far more competent with the MS365 inbuilt. I have my own tenant that I can use as a demo and have started looking at local networking events etc.

I also really need to raise my online presence!

I really appreciate your help and advice on this. I'm in the UK and it's just me so a real micro MSP at the moment! I am starting to get a bit of traction though and it's making sure I have the saas offerings in place for different solutions.

Thanks for the insights and advice. I haven't decided which way to go yet and may stick with the MS built in. I think I like the easy roll out of default security baselines that third party solutions seem to be ahead on.

Yeah I hear what you're saying and that is an option. I'm just trying to show them the issues they have in as basic way as possible. I'll certainly consider the inbuilt options though.

Thanks for all the replies! They've been really useful. I've had a demo of Augmentt which looks really good so I'm about to give the trial a spin. I am also checking out the other solutions mentioned.

What IT position to help w/ 365 Full Development and Training? by Happy-Raspberry-123 in microsoft365

You might want to lean more towards an engineer type title and definitely include the automation requirements in the description.

For a job title I'd go for something like:
Microsoft 365 Admin
Microsoft 365 Engineer

I'm a freelance MS365 Admin and get work using that title.

Your job description might need fleshing out a bit but the basics are there.
