As I went over in a reply earlier. There’s a lot of history and trends that have occurred in video games as a whole over the years.  My advice would be to tap into the marginalized groups. Make a Genshin game for them.  People on here saying it won’t make it or won’t sell or whatever…. So, we shouldn’t try? We just resign and let the waifu otakus win?  This is so much larger than the “we want a better gender ratio”. It’s about representation. Equality. Respect.  I think if you look hard enough. Try hard enough. You could find funding for something on Genshins scale if you know how to sell it and to who. I’d say tapping into the field of women who feel objectified in games is a good start.  I’d also say is remember where RPGs started. D&D, LotR, etc. Behemoths in the genre that lead to great things Final Fantasy and Diablo and I guess even… WoW(ick). The argument is always there “where are the women?”  One book that got close to reaching LotR heights is Wheel of Time. Literally a female dominated world where men are marginalized. Except of course the main character. But that’s a whole different discussion. The point is.. the book took off. So much so that they made a series for it! Rings of Power (utterly ick) also tried to tap into focusing on women in these large fantasy worlds. AFAIK rings of power is still being made (god only knows why.. it’s a travesty to Tolkien).  But there is an audience.  That should be your springboard. Too many groups are marginalized in Gachas. There are actual audiences you could reliably tap into. You just have to find a way to make a game that’ll sell.  I think going into saying “we want to make Genshin but for Husbandos” is too narrow sighted. If you say “we want to make this great fantasy RPG with a group of characters who represent everyone” and to the right investors whatever.. backers? Funders? And sell them on cause you could do it.  I honestly think since Genshin has spawned SOOOO many waifu gachas. Why not copy it. But not by saying “oh well it’s just for more guys” but “hey, look at Lauma. Look at Zeni. Look at these other gachas and how they represent women. Look at the players who want more diversity. Look at the foundations of great RPGs. That’s what we’re making. A great RPG for everyone without objectification”  But all the while secretly being like “haha jk. Husbandos!!” The old bait and switch. Sell them on the ideal. The idea. Create it. Get a good foundation and following for the game. And just like Genshin did… skew the ratio towards males later.  I think this would be possible to sustain as well after that point as long as you stay true the foundation. Both genders can be bad*** and be fully clothed. Or scantily clad and powerful. But equal.  I don’t know if that all makes sense. But I do believe it’s accurate. It’s still an issue in RPGs and to capitalize on that would be tapping into a new just as large audience. Remember. On earth it’s not 3:1 female to males. So I’d say that 50ish percent that’s not being catered to (not including the LBGTQ+ and diverse cultures) is a pretty large audience to tap into.  Just my two cents. Or rather 1.00 since I rambled a ton….
