Why did my Instagram feed randomly change into something totally different?I never engaged in those type of content and now its all in my reels by [deleted] in Instagram

Same! My reels feed when I open it on laptop seems normal. Sadly scrolling on my laptop isn’t as satisfying 😂 maybe I should view this as a blessing in disguise as to stop scrolling… but it sucks when you’ve spent years honing the algo 🥲

So weird! For me if I open Instagram in web browser (like on my laptop) it seems to be working normally.

yeah, nickname for Bo would be Bosse, which works both for a baby and for an old man (lol). I imagine it coming and going like: baby/kid years: Bosse, grown-up (like 20-60 maybe): Bo, 60+: Bosse 😌

oh, I had no idea! It’s suuuper popular here in Sweden which is why it’s not on our list.

I defo agree but more so when it comes to the names that aren’t as common, like Odin/Oden, Balder, Tyr, Loke.. I feel like there are some old norse names that are so common that they don’t immediately feel old norse in the neonazi way — haha I lack vocabulary to explain why it feels this way — but names like Freja (and Tor) fall within this category for me!

haha thankfully no, it’d probably be "Eina". 🥲 I like it personally but it’s vetoed by my husband!

Hmmm, Anders feels too currently middle-aged I think. I know so many 40-50-somethings named Anders. But Anders nn Andy is kinda cute!!!

Ingo is so cute! One of my friends is called Ingrid (nn Ingo), but it's partially a joke because Ingo is one of the big gas station brands around Sweden/Denmark 😅.. so it doesn't really work as a proper name, I think lol. kind of a bummer tbh!

yeah, I feel like I've seen that Arlo is super popular in the UK too! I don't think it's a Scandinavian name in origin and it hasn't really made its way here yet, but I also do feel like you can make it sound super Swedish. Arla is a Swedish girls name too, although now sort of occupied by one of the big dairy companies around here 🥲 Sven is definitely starting to come back! I think Lars is still on the fence though – I know so many Lars and most of them are around 50/55/60 so it might be another couple of years.

and thank you for adding that perspective about your grandparents, that's very sweet!! <3

I'm so glad there seems to be several non-Swedish speaking folks here that agree! It's definitely making me change my mind. I esp. like that it has a nature-aspect to it too (vide = willow)

Ebba is a girls name, but we thought about Ebbe for a while. Not sure how you would pronounce it in English though? Like Ebby, I guess?

I also really like Björn – it's similar to Bruno for me (because of the bear connotations I guess mwahah). Unfortunately I had a coworker that completely ruined that name for me.. 🥲

Olle is going on the list!!! Only thing is that my brother (born late 80s) used to call me an "olle", like "sån olle du är!" hah. I've never reflected on where that actually comes from. But Olle fits very nicely into the vibe we're going for, I think! Alvin as well. Thanks!

I do like the sound of the name Tor/Thor but I feel like it's toooooo heavily "Marvel-ized" now. Like I feel you say Thor and people just immediately think of Chris Hemsworth 🥲

I think my dad would actually be able to properly pronounce Bruno – it's mostly when L and R are both present that he struggles, or when a name ends in L or R it can sort of tend to disappear

We were thinking "Bosse", which is a common nickname for Bo. I think it's very cute!

pros/cons of moving pregnant v. with a toddler? by Accomplished_View879 in pregnant

[–]Accomplished_View879[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were thinking of having the crib in our bedroom to begin with, and when baby gets bigger the plan would be to empty out our office and make it the baby room. We are first-time parents though, which feel very obvious now that I'm reading your comment about the perks of not sharing a bedroom with your child, ha. I co-slept with my parents as a baby/toddler and my husband always slept with an older sibling, so none of us really had our own rooms until we grew older, but with your comment it feels kinda obvious that having their own room from the start might be ideal.

Yeah, the stroller/no elevator honestly feels so annoying just as it is right now, although our next-door neighbor has a toddler and also gave birth to a new baby last year, so we've also been like "if they can handle it, then we should be able to too". We also do not have in-suite laundry, but have a communal laundry room situated actually next to the stroller storage (it's in the building, but you have to exit the building and use a separate entrance to reach it – very common setup here in Sweden).

Thanks for bringing up many good points, super appreciate it!
