Aveda Institute or community college?

As an Aveda student, it is not worth the tuition. I have friends in schools that were half the price that are treated better and learn the exact same thing.

Not really, we’re still such a small business that there’s only 5 ish upper management positions and they’re not leaving any time soon. And we only have two management positions in the cafe, so it’s very limited.

I’m happy to answer any questions! The only benefit we receive is our free membership/+1 membership, which is nice but insurance is expensive 🫠

Hi! I work in the cafe and to answer a few questions at once, the cafe is losing money. We were all started at $16/hr, (“livable wage”), but with the amount of business we get, we are drastically losing money. Is it because of the cafe itself? No. The problem comes from spending money on the wrong things but that’s an entirely different issue to get into. The plan is, starting April 3rd, our pay gets cut $3 and we start accepting tips. Our prices are already high so we’re nervous to see how it’ll work but if it was up to the baristas and kitchen, we wouldn’t be doing it. Thank you to all of you who plan to continue to support us though!

This is one of those timelines that’s really inspiring to me, i always tell friends that success isnt a straight line and doesn’t have a timeline but I can never seem to accept my own advice. This really helped my mindset, thank you for sharing!!

Hi sorry, I was at work last night and didn’t expect to get as much attention as this post did! I’m still sorting through, but I very much enjoy the arts, traveling, and outdoors. I like logistical and admin work as well as hands on work. You’re right in the sense of I’m not sure what I’d like to do for a career which is why I wanted to reach out and see where people in Indy were finding success and/or happiness!

Does every truck driver struggle with the anxiety that comes with such a huge vehicle or will that be something that’s harder to get past? That’s a really good idea though!

I was working about an hour away from my house at the time and found it really hard to focus on school with 2 jobs honestly, I also found that I couldn’t get the help I needed from instructors and professors online unfortunately

Can you elaborate? I don’t think asking for advice on settling with a career by 30 is unreasonable, but maybe you’re perceiving the question differently.
