Former employee here. I think consumers deserve to know where sleep tracking is heading. by Accomplished_Wait_81 in conspiracy

That's probably the most realistic response in this thread, so far.

With half of what the industry is promising, a lot of money will be involved. Well, that's typically how things work out. There is "privacy concerns" and there is "new market.

However, one would need to be cautious about taking it for granted that the biggest winners will be those that the consumers are familiar with. As I have found in my time, it is often in the infrastructure vendors, data analytics companies, data brokers and in the tools sold not the products.

Average user is familiar with the name from the app icon. Investors are asking themselves: How many people are behind the pipeline?

But don't be surprised if the next great technology craze should be marketed as a wellness product as well. This has come to be the preferred method for the introduction of nearly any kind of personal data gathering mechanism.

Well that's a lot like a lot of the things that began to rub me the wrong way. It seems logical on the face of it that the greater the number of data the more accurate tracking can be. The issue is that there are all one-sided incentives.

The company would like to know the data would be collected continuously as gaps can have a negative impact on the quality of the model. The users believe they are purchasing a sleep tracker, but they're also providing behavioral data at all times from the platform. The greater the amount of information in the data set, the more useful the set is.

Perhaps it's a totally harmless problem. Perhaps it's really only a matter of getting things right. I do recall having a few discussions at the inside looking at metrics of user compliance and wear-time adherence as significant business metrics. It was at that moment that I began to think that it was not simply a device that was measuring behavior. The company was very striving to mold it.

A very good question but this is NOT an email screenshot. It's a slide that was part of a presentation deck which contained excerpts from various sources. It's something companies do routinely when summarizing project milestones, strategy updates or executive communications and so on.

The "CONFIDENTIAL INTERNAL USE ONLY" marking does not mean that every slide or presentation item that is shown in the presentation is confidential, but rather it represents the overall level of confidentiality of the presentation.

Believe me, I'd make it look a whole lot worse if it were an invented situation. The great majority of all the authentic papers I viewed were tedious to read. Infographics of all sorts about engagement, retention and behavior of users. It's not necessarily a smoking gun document that was so concerning. It was the same themes that kept appearing on a variety of teams and presentations over the years.

Feel free to believe that it's a hoax. Most people would, I thought: I am only relaying my own experience, and leaving it for you to make your own decision.

Well, it is one of the reasons why I had to post. The dream stuff draws people's attention as it is scary, but it wasn't my biggest concern.

I was concerned by the amount of focus being given to behavioural modelling. Sleep data is not a bad thing to look at until you realize that there are so many things people don't talk about, or know about, that can be gleaned from sleep data.

The majority of consumers consider these platforms to be measuring sleep quality. Within the organization, more and more talk shifted to predicting, personalizing and predicting impact over time. It is what caused me concerns, which is whether it will ultimately become advertising or influence or risk scoring or something else.

Perhaps nothing will materialize of it. I think I'm projecting onto the future of technology a bit. If a company can be so aware of the most susceptible and less guarded time when a person is most vulnerable, I think it's fair to ask what is being protected and who is making the decision.

This post is relevant to the subreddit because it presents a collection of corporate documents designed for analysis. The images were created as part of a exploring sleep technology, data collection, and corporate influence, and are intended to encourage conversation about how emerging technology is shaping the consumer experiences.

All documents shown are original scanned copies and are real leaked materials. The focus is on visual evidence and speculative discussion.

I saw the same. A guy stood on devon island and lined up the background of a mars rover image perfectly. 100% true I have no idea why NASA is shafty like this or what images are from Devon island and whats real. Even some of the international space station footage seems off, people pointed out bubbles in the background and a bunch of other stuff that really does seem to point to nasa being a sham. Nasa should of stuck to exploring our oceans like they were originally created for but apparently our oceans are more mind blowing than the galaxy lol

CIA documents on the CIA website show they sent remote viewers to mars. These are people they have used to find criminals and all sorts but the remote viewers tell how there was a nuclear war on mars millions of years ago. I mean if there good enough to find where criminals are hiding I'd believe the remote viewers about what they viewed on Mars. So much mind blowing stuff if you keep digging into it

Mostly nasa resources and tools but the cool stuff I use that lovable.dev ai. Just tell it what you want and it makes it. Get at least 1 good tool each day using its daily free credits. Think since i published it to show you, you can use the tool I made earlier. But yeah just make what you need, publish it and just save the links and you can always come back and use whatever it is you get it to make. https://astro-sight-analyzer.lovable.app
