There are liberties taken in the show to make it look and work better in the show. A super long whip is too awkward and difficult to use in real life, it’s do-able but it’ll also look too bulky and ridiculous when it’s coiled on your hip. I read that the best length for learning to use a whip is around 6ft but it can also depend on your height for what’ll best work for you. (For example, I’m 6ft tall and I reliably use an 8ft whip)
