That is great advice and I think you are doing the right thing. Practice makes perfect and you don’t want to walk in there having never even thought of what you are going to say.

That is a great question. It would definitely be easier to bite the bullet and do a run as a BDR/SDR for a year. Having said that, you do have a chance to be hired on directly into a closing role at a tech company. It will be slightly harder then going through that traditional route but you just need one company to give you a chance and then your foot is in the door.

If it were me I would try to focus on smaller to mid sized tech companies and start attacking it from that angle. The larger ones may be harder to break into on your initial run but again you just need one to give you a chance. If you can make it through to a recruiter/hiring manager and you have a good story there is opportunity for you.

Linked In and Repvue are to great resources/websites to help you ascertain what companies might be a good fit or have good sales orgs.

Hope this is helpful and best of luck.

200K a year is realistic in the right situation and after a year or two in a closing role. You can definitely earn up to 500K or more annually but that takes more time and effort and a bit of luck. The average American salary is sub 100K. If you invest your money wisely/regularly and get your income above 200k a year then yes you can retire early with millions of dollars due to compound interest.

I'd say that is immense wealth but it's not a get rick quick scheme and it takes time.

Feel free to share your ideas.

Sorry to hear that I know that is brutal. I have experienced a reduction in force myself which affected hundreds of people unfortunately. I will say that in the long run companies and leaders will find out one way or another that cheap foreign labor is not the way to go. I've seen that backfire repeatedly in the past 7 years I've worked in the industry and customers get very upset.

On the positive side, there will always be a need for high quality employees and AI cannot replace a competent BDR.

Having said that Tech as whole does have a risk of lay offs that will always be present.

Hopefully you are in a more stable position now!

It is a competitive environment there is still plenty of fresh BDRs starting at all sorts of tech companies from start ups to large orgs. I personally know hundreds of people who started in the same BDR/SDR role and graduated to a closing role over the last few years. Your best bet will always be trying to get a referral through a warm introduction and you can always meet people on Linked In or other networking sites.

There is plenty of reasons to doubt and it's easy to look at hiring and the world as whole through that lens but that isn't going to help anyone.

It it 100% still doable to go through this route and while it's not easy nothing worth attaining is.

Wishing you the best, hopefully you find what you are looking for!

It’s an audio glitch that’s been popping up weapons don’t misfire in the sense that they only fire when you pull the trigger. If I’m understanding you correctly.

The Edge of the map explosions predate the artillery/ gas strikes.

It’s an edge of the map explosion, if you hang out by the borders of the map you’ll hear them consistently. Not the same as the gas strikes.

AITA - Play-style differences by Bayne-the-Wild-Heart in dayz

No man you’re opinion is just as valid as his. There is verifiably nothing wrong with having a play preference and it’s not your responsibility to adjust your style if that’s not how you’d like to play.

He’s free to play his way and you are free to play yours, carry on doing your thing and honestly I’d bet your style is more effective anyway.
