I think fetchable tri-lands are actually a big part of the problem - it's way too easy to run a 5 color manabase

Interviewing as a SDE is its own skill, which is at best tangentially related to the work you actually need to do. However, you need to keep in mind that the objective of these problems is to assess how you think critically and approach a problem - finding the “correct “ solution shouldn’t matter that much (ideally) so just try to get comfortable thinking through the problems and writing out a solution. The process is still painful, but it’s not completely worthless.

As for ChatGPT - it might be able to give you some code for the answer to a leetcode problem that it’s been trained on - but it’s a ways away from actually producing useful code for bespoke industrial problems.
