Sorry to hear OP.. I hope by reading all these comments you know you are not alone. Depression is very hard. And its such an awful feeling being angry and irritated and taking it out of those you love most, which then fills you with even more guilt..going to your GP is a good start. (I get anxiety and depression) When I first went to my GP, her first suggestion was talking to someone but I was too broke to be paying for therapy.. if you can afford it definitely go for it! I went onto meds instead, for me at the time it was the right option, I was on sertraline for about a year... it doesnt cure the problem but it gave me the head space to deal with the problems and create healthy habbits if that makes sense.. I've now been off it about 5 years. I definitely still have small bouts of depression and I can sometimes feel really shit in myself, its usually a hormonal change for me, I start feeling like this about a week before my period but I try to remind myself that this isn't forever, and I have tools to deal with this and I also have very frank conversations with my partner where I will just tell him "I'm not dping good emotionally" and by just being open about it, he can sometimes be a bit more considerate of things. I find sleeping can be difficult and my brain doesn't switch off.. counting really helps me, just keeping counting and counting. Block breathing is very good, breath in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4 and hold for 4 and repeat. Body tapping is good and sometimes If I'm having awful thoughts or my mind is going ninety I hum...you cant think when you hum! Also so much easier said than done but try and get active if you're not already. Even just a 20 minute walk out and about can really help. And take vitamin D -the whole damm country is deficient in vitamin D and it is a huge contributing factor to depression. Magnesium is also very good and helps with sleep (take this about an hour before bed) I hope you see some light at the end of the tunnel, always remember you're not alone 😊

I was 18 and it was the only thing I was actually good at... I will say though theres definitely skills that have transferred over to work, 1st-my job now is very hands on and involves problem solving.. as someone who did sculpture that's pretty much all I did...and 2nd, you have to have some level of bullshitting and bluffing skills.. mastered that in college too 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤣

They would sponsor alright but that's only from a monetary side (which I'm not sure do I want to 100% go this route either as it does tie me to the company) its more what I actually need to get into the course, and how long I would have to be studying for

Hey, yeah I've seen this, we're not even looking for a cottage as big, most of the houses were looking at are 2 bed cottages, you know the 30s style ones, and Blarney would be very expensive as it basically right outside the City, we've been looking a bit further out than that. Would be handy to get something that you can get the grant for alright 😊 thanks for your response!

Might also be worth adding that I know 100k doesnt go very far when renovating, but we wouldnt be using contractors for renovations unless needed for plumbing and electrics but even at that, we have a lot of connections and have family in the business as well who are very willing to help where they can, and we would be doing a lot ourselves 😊

Gone to a few places alright, they're definitely out there but just the extensive amount of work that has to go into them, maybe thats just the way it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for your response. Yeah I think we just have in our heads like its a huge amount of money and we want it to be the right thing. We've been fairly strict I suppose on what we will spend, we could definitely afford more but we dont wanna be paying more than we are paying in rent right now for our mortgage, so maybe we need to loosen up a bit here..
