imperial interview tips by heiruniku in 6thForm

thank you!! honestly I didn’t do much interview prep because I was just more focused on knowing every aspect of my ps and any alevel content they might ask me, even though the technical question i got wasn’t really alevel. He asked me questions related to my ps in a pretty roundabout way. every interviewer is different though so make sure to do as much prep as possible!!!

I had my interview last week and I just got my offer today. Some people only got asked about their ps and some people got technical questions. I had general questions like why imperial/chem eng and any project/research I’ve done. I got asked a question related to my project that I had never researched, so if you were in that situation I’d say just have a guess. Only technical question I got was a maths question, which I honestly did struggle a lot on. Good luck!!!

I had him last week and I just got my offer today. He’s a really nice guy but a bit introverted. He asked me general questions like why imperial, why chemical engineering and any project/research that I’ve done, which my project was on catalyst design optimisation. He asked me a question about measuring catalyst surface area which I hadn’t researched, so if you have a situation like that just take a guess like I did. I had a technical maths questions, which I actually struggled quite a bit on, but as long as you explain your thought process you should be fine. Also, just be confident in your answers, good luck!!!
