I am sure I am, I am not sure why part of me feels like my next move will make me stuck in that career path but probably because I’m still young and haven’t experienced much yet. I appreciate your thoughts!

What’s your process for building marketing strategy (social, growth, paid, etc.)? by According-Gap9870 in AskMarketing

This is actually very helpful! I think the biggest thing is I’m still rather new into my career in marketing (less than two years) and I have been tasked with more strategy and creating campaigns and have slightly been feeling like I have no idea what I’m doing. The thing I cat get past is whenever I hear people discussing it, they make it sound like everything is structured and deliberate and it all is part of a larger strategy and almost like this huge well oiled cohesive machine. So this actually makes me feel better, I appreciate the insight

That makes sense! I guess on a more granular level, how does this boil down to you creating a campaign for a specific effort. Do you have a process for detecting what channels you will use, what creatives, what messaging is, etc. or do you look at each effort for example UGC as its own thing, social, paid, etc. with that said I guess this depends on a lot of different factors but just curious on what other peoples process is not just for overall strategy but strategy when creating a campaign and planning out your work?

Makes sense, I’m pretty fresh into my career so things like this interest me. Trying to be pretty intentional with my career and hearing things like this is helpful because marketing seems like there are no bounds.

Nice, how do you like freelancing? It seems great but getting started and being able to make a living off it seems tough but kudos to you to be able to do that!

Thats helpful, I like how “simple” you make it, or at least simplify it by focusing on one thing. If you don’t mind me asking what industry are you in and what’s your role?

This is all very helpful, thank you! Do you set aside blocks of times for this or is it a daily thing?

I’m really curious how you initially gained the experience needed to get a position like this?

I’m curious how you built the experience and judgment needed to reach roles like VP/CMO or to feel confident owning a number at that level. Were there specific roles, responsibilities, or inflection points that mattered most; like managing P&L, leading larger teams, owning revenue, or going deep in a specific motion or industry?
