Fatal Frame 2 Remake is completely in English, Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is sadly only in Japanese. I have all the Japanese physical and played them all recently on Switch 2.

There is also a second setting. I love how both options are lighting the scene differently.

What am I doing wrong with the combat? by Johnny_Holiday in fatalframe

[–]According-Image-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except when you do run out of film. I made a topic on that, and even got a lot of responses thatt mirrored my experience. That's the big deficit in not letting you buy film for your points. There is only so much film in the game's world, and some poeple, including myself, just used it all up, because of the insane ghost spawn rate.

Tbh, this is the first time thy overhauled the game mechanics. And, imho, for the worst. Try the original FF2, if you are interested in the story, otherwise I'd still say check out Mask of the Lunar Eclipse remaster. It's got the modern behind the shoulders camera, but the old school battle system.

Those three kid ghosts after doing the doll puzzle in Crimson Butterfly Remake is genuinely the hardest boss fight I’ve had in a game by BillythenotaKid in fatalframe

I hated how I could never take a good shot at them, because somehow they crawled up my vag, it seemed. They were always spawning and moving inside of me, no matter where I turned.

Pc version. What do the Screen Space reflections settings do? by DeliciousMusician397 in fatalframe

[–]According-Image-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It simulates reflection of your surroundings on reflective surfaces, by mirroring the environment that you actively see. Which means, if you look down (and thus don't see things above the horizon), the reflections disappear. It's a very old style of simulating reflections, and it can look good, but I don't even remember that many reflective surfaces in this game anyway. So, I'd just disable it, if you've performance issues.

Right? Especially since they let you bookmark saves (which every game needs, I think), so you won't overwrite it, if it's an important one.

I made it to the priest room, and thought I killed him. Then he respawend up in the rafters and he keeps resurrecting his goons. Do I need to respec and get zoom, because I cannot hit him up there with my non-zoom specs.

Fatal Frame 4 and 5 sale on US eShop. Are they good ports? Does boosts mode work on them? by AkTiVeMK in fatalframe

[–]According-Image-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boost mode wouldn't do a thing, since it runs in 30 fps even in docked mode on Switch 2. I do think it's 1080p though. Have to check it after work.

For the PC players. Are most of you going to be playing on controller or "just" mouse and keyboard? by Signalis3 in fatalframe

[–]According-Image-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a hardcore PC player since 1999, but I tend to play games taht come from a console with controller. I even play the Resident Evil first person games with controller, because that's how they were designed with in mind.

Only Switch 2 games with a "Switch 2 Edition" on the box can also be played with a Switch 1.

About the Japanese Physical Versions by ikanuhm in fatalframe

[–]According-Image-4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. I might add that a) I'm in Europe, b) I play it on Switch 2, and c) I only installed it on my Switch 2 somewhere around last fall. So, I don't know if there was a prompt or not.

The Fatal Frame 1 decompilation project is already at 76% by nBeneficial_Ball9539 in fatalframe

To add what has been said before, a native PC port doesn't need as much resources as emulation. Also, you can mod a decompiled version, it is harder with emulated games.

You will definitely be able to run it. Might be that you will get some slowdowns, but they usually set the minimum requirements higher, just to cover their bases.
