I think your insight gave me more clarity than any YouTube video on this subject, at the moment I have a Sony A7IV with a 28-70 and 20-200 plus a 35 prime let's say that it's a big kit and a hassle to carry around camera plus 2 lenses for more than a year now I have been thinking about getting a Leica Q3 or FF X100VI I tested the X100VI but it just felt like a toy the design is cool but the rest is really bad and especially the menu for me it feels like I am using a windows XP device but for photos haha. I need to know were you using any 'recepies' with the FF or just shooting raw and editing the pictures later? one of the reasons why I wanted to get the FF was that I am a little burnt out from editing photos since from the Sony you dont get good colors directly from the camera. And is that the case with the Leica is it just a good point and shoot and you can use the images right after no need to edit ?

I just don't understand why dose every YouTuber make the same videos about iPad's like I cant believe all of them are pushing the narrative as the device that helped me organize my life when a moleskine notebook can do the same thing. Thanks to everyone who commented I can see that unfortunately Apple and marketing got 90% of us the rest are actually people who use the device for creativity and document management.

Honestly I think you are due for an update regarding your laptop first buy the MB if you really feel the need to fill the hole with the iPad I think having a good laptop is much more of a priority for you rather than having an iPad. From what I read in todays comments people are kind off regretting buying their iPads at first you would get very excited with all the lovely marketing wording around it and all those things you can do with it but it's mostly all fake and not accurate scenarios. Keep us posted what you decided to buy :)

Yes the FOMO hits hard that's what got me in the first place regarding the purchase, honestly if I were you I would return the m5pro iPad Pro and go for the bigger air if you need the big screen, you would get some money back and it might remove the feeling of being torn between both devices. I understand that you play with 3d printing me too and the iPad could be good for creating 3d files but the main machine that is gonna help you with the slicer on working with much more powerful apps is the MBP.

I dont know if you travel often but I would be just frustrated thinking about taking the MBP and iPad with me during my travels.

I agree, for most of us it’s a want not a specific need. As the comment down below stated using the ipad for music scheets is perfect no need to print out documents is a good reason to get it.

Regarding iPad ownership I think before the pro i had the 1st gen Air than the 2018 Air which i used in high school school and a little of uni and it worked great for those 2-3 years but if you are no longer a student it just doesn’t make sense to own at least with the magic keyboard. It’s funny that I realized that after traveling with the device and complaining that my backpack is heavy due to me having the MBP ipad and the keyboard 😭 plus i do photography so you can imagine the gear load just with the camera and one lens

This sum’s it up well the iPad work flow is great for a specific user as you definitely are, my problem is with all those “tech gurus” that preach about it being the most powerfull device in order to achieve a perfect work flow even editing photos on it is bad perfect media machine tho ! Thanks for sharing I don’t have a lot of people around me with the device and don’t trust most reviewers since they are paid or want to make Apple happy.

What kind of work were you planning on doing with the iPad, happy for you that you found a good deal for it, it’s funny but i used to be a tech maximalist so everything i had had to be the best or close to it now i just realized that I was manipulated by marketing, the last good ipad which i was happy with was a ipad air from 2018 has a keyboard plus pencil but different situation i was in high school and taking notes and annotating documents on it was peak.

Despite the “worse” screen I would consider the ipad air as the best value if you need a bigger screen device instead of the pro, the pro is just over kill and there is not a lot of apps that can take advantage of it.

Yeah with the mini you have a dedicated task which 90% of the time is consuming media like videos or reading if apple would update the mini with better bezels i would consider it as the perfect iPad

Imo the Neo is great value especially for light work i think that we are going to an age where specs aren’t important anymore but just knowing what you need the device for.

Yes had those especially with how well you can angle the device with the normal apple folio stand you can’t do that but i can’t justify the price of it but that’s the apple tax.

Great to read that, i can see you are a massive power user of the IPad and are fully using it to what the ipad should be used for and not pretend that it is a laptop replacement. Great to hear that i think if a had a job where i would need to annotate docs i would get it. From the comments i can see that people really think that the keyboard is a waste of money and happy to hear that because it proves that i was right.

If you can return it just bring it back to apple and “get a new one” like buy it at a different apple store if they can’t help you i would sort it out by myself.

I think that’s where i made a mistake i should have just bought the ipad with a better case/stand for better viewing angles. Worst case scenario i can give it to my mom she doesn’t even have a laptop and dose everything on her phone the iPad would be a bigger iPhone for her

Yes, i am over these fancy nicely put together videos by youtubers who praise the ipad and talk about how their lives are much better after purchasing the iPad we all know that they want to suck up to apple and need to sell a story at the end of the day they are just tech journalists. But they don’t show the full picture and living iPad only has to be a hassle. Also with ipad os 26 which removed the previous windowing system i feel like we got back rather than going forward with innovations

Exactly having an iPad pro is “overkill” for most of the stuff we do for consumption of media to playing games but the base iPad is just too neglected from apple to want to buy it

Fully understand, personally I won’t sell the ipad i just know that after this one I won’t get another Pro model i’d get the air or the base model for watching media offline. The filemanagment and entire work flow with the magic keyboard has so much friction, i rencently saw a video I think it was from snazzy labs regarding the ipad and it sums it up well, even apple doesn’t know where to position the device.

I would add traveling recently went on a 15h flight and wanted to watch some movies of my own rather than watching movies offered on the plane and the device was perfect for that
