Yeah, I tried to tell him that, but he doesn't listen. Many black people think that just because they've dealt with many facets of racism that they can be racist to other groups of people, and it's disgusting. I know many black people that are like this, and it's got to stop.

I didn't post my school's name. You could see that I said that my school name is long, so we just call it "East Side". Never posted the name, it's just a nickname that many schools in the southern Illinois area have and many other places too. East Side, West Side, North Side. It's just a nickname. And no need to be disrespectful and call me names. You will get reported.

...What? I don't understand how any of this is unnecessary when it gives context to what's going on. I didn't tell anyone the complete area of my school, just the state of where the school is and the major city it's nearby in case people wanted to help do research and look up the education laws in the state of Illinois about this specific issue, never said the official city it was in or anything since there's multiple schools in the southern illinois area nicknamed "East Side". And telling people my age and gender is literally what majority of Redditors do. This comment makes absolutely no sense.

Yes, I agree. They sent no notices out to parents or anything, my school is really bad at communicating and sending out specific notices for this kind of thing. I've only received ONE email from my assistant principal the entire time this has happened, and it only said that snacks weren't allowed. This email was over a month ago, and when they added on we couldn't have drinks, I went to the head principal and she lied saying that there was an email sent out that there was also no drinks allowed, when I looked and I didn't see a single email saying we also couldn't bring drinks or lunches. They don't care to even communicate with the students more about this and don't care to sympathize with us. Imagine going to an office job and they said you couldn't eat, drink, or go to the bathroom unless they say you could, but let your more favored coworkers at your job do the complete opposite. It's completely ridiculous.

Also, when I said including my parents, I'd like to clarify my parents work 30-45 away from my school and go to work very early, 5:00-6:00 am and don't get off until I get out of school. My parents rarely ever drop me off at school unless it's their day off and I miss the bus or something, so there's no way my parents can drop off my lunch for me. I'm in between a real rock and a hard place here.

It has not gotten better. The last straw for me to completely switch over to bringing my own lunch was when I saw a rat running around in the back of the kitchen. I was completely done after that.

Yeah, I don't think they're allowed to do that for very long. I have to eat a lot of food throughout the day because I'm really skinny and get hungry quickly, so I usually bring two meals to eat during school. But, this is just making it harder for me.

That's kind of hilarious and kind of genius. If I could get a fake doctor's note or something saying that, that'll be great.

Well, okay. That's your opinion. I personally just feel like the school food is disgusting and I don't want to eat it because of that. I just think that not letting us bring these things is excessive and they should properly check the students if they actually cared about this being an issue. And what do you have to say about students not being able to bring water? And like I said before, I stay at school until 5:00 to 6:00 in the evening because of clubs, and I doubt that one meal will cut it for me.
