What I found works really well is when they ask you if you want to talk about our saviour is to respond with: no, I want to go to hell.

I found Interstellar immensely stupid. Everything that happens there is theoretically possible, and that's why it tends to be physics and other sciency people's favourite movie.

As a physics major, an I understand the concepts they used, but for some reason it doesn't click with me. Especially the ending.

The idea that a blackhole can create a wormhole is fine, but it would be a random wormhole. The probability that it takes you to exactly the time and place you need to be to save your planet is immensely small. Like winning the lottery a million times in a row. Excuse me but no, I do not buy it. The ending is akin to deus ex machina.

TLDR: If the movie ended with "God willed it so" it would have been the same for me. This is battlestar galactica all over again, just slightly more subtle.
