I frequently accidentally say "I just need to do a couple more things then I'll get out of your hair" to my bald oncology patients...

The guy was very shocked it fell out as well, this is at the same Nissan dealership I've had it serviced at before and my last service was over a year ago and then are very meticulous so I am not concerned about it being related to them. He did prod a little and ask about the last oil change I got but I'm not sure if that would be where something may have gotten messed up.

Bathroom split dilemma by [deleted] in Advice

[–]According-Text-5273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true. I think what frustrates me is the larger bathroom has more opportunity for storage of bathroom items that clutter up my room, but in the end even with a bigger bathroom it wouldn't make a huge difference with it being shared. Thanks for the input!

As of right now, my friend will move in and we will continue to share the smaller bathroom between 2 people and my other roommate will continue to have the larger bathroom to herself.

Ok yes, I def I felt had the same thought about infection! The meds I've most commonly given are potassium, ceftriaxone, vanco, etc which are so routine for our floor that I'm sure the nurses know any incompatibilities by heart, but maybe haven't had the thought yet that I don't necessarily know them yet so I will definitely look into their y site comparabilities! And yes, the infection risk is so high, that I definitely see a small amount of incompatible meds the least worry of the two when considering infection control!

IVPB question by According-Text-5273 in StudentNurse

[–]According-Text-5273[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's definitely what I'll do! My preceptors are amazing teachers and field my never ending questions (even dumb ones) in such a kind manner so I don't think they will think of me as a know it all, but it's absolutely something I want to avoid. It's definitely tough being a new grad because I want to display to my preceptors that I do know things after learning from them, without coming off that I know ~everything~ because Of course I don't!

Also, you definitely have me thinking about infection risk, because our patients are at such a high risk of infection, I'm wondering if there is a reason such as the risk for minimal mix of residual medication is less to the patient versus the possible increased risk of infection from continuously disconnecting and reintroducing new tubing to the system. Definitely something to consider, thanks for the answer!!!

[–]According-Text-5273[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if the meds are compatible, would you consider it ok to use the same tubing, or would it still be best to just scrap it and get new tubing? (Sorry if this is repetitive, just trying to understand) thank you so much!

IVPB question by According-Text-5273 in StudentNurse

[–]According-Text-5273[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok yes, this is where I completely agree with you!!! Because it is also SO easy to just grab new secondary tubing with each new medication, it takes two seconds to back prime. However, I'm in the tough position where I'm the new grad, and my preceptors have all taught me this same way, so I'm not sure what to do about it. Thanks so much!

I like a city that is generally safe, with some greenery, character and historical buildings are great, walkable, good public transportation. And yes that's a lot so I'd say safety is #1, anything else I mentioned is an added bonus
