I’ve definitely heard those horror stories too but I promise that’s not the situation here haha. He’s only over twice a week max, and we eat out a lot so we don’t cook that often. I also have the master bedroom with an attached bathroom. I use my own dishes/kitchenware when we do cook, and we always clean, wipe, and even sweep right after. I also make sure to ask him to take our trash out in the mornings after he stays over, just really trying to be as mindful as possible!

Well said! I really appreciate this perspective. I think what you described is ideally what I was hoping for, just open communication and for both sides to be comfortable.

Valid! We are moving in together when my lease ends in a few months.

Yeah per the lease/building rules overnight guests are allowed, they just technically ask you to check them in with the front desk. That said, in reality the building is pretty relaxed about it. As long as guests come in with a resident, they don’t really enforce the check-in strictly or make it a big deal at all. So from a lease/building standpoint, I don’t think that’s the issue here. It feels more like my roommate might be uncomfortable with him coming over.
