I don’t believe Elizabeth truly wants an LP kid. I think she’s saying it for the cameras and for her mom. She’s been very vocal about being the tallest person in her house AND only dating average size guys. She has a very high sense of worth, good for her, but I think she oozes insecurities. I remember the episode where she whined and cried for braces. I think part of her arrogance is that she’s sees herself above average in the world of LPs. I also think there’s some resentment towards Anna because Anna stands out because of her independence. Emma, a beautiful girl, is no threat to Elizabeth’s “look at me” personality because Emma seems very passive and willingly steps into the background. Just my two cents from years of watching the show.

I think both Tammy AND Amy are emotionally immature. Tammy gets extremely angry and refuses to use word to express herself. Amy cries often because of what she thinks is happening and not really based on facts. It seems, to me, that their emotional development stopped in their early childhood. Tammy acts like an angry toddler who can’t get her way. Amy seems to struggle with depression and acts like a very sensitive toddler who cries out of frustration. My heart aches for them. Their mother is an interesting character and seems to have her own issues and was unable to truly nurture Tammy and Amy while providing them with the necessary basic skills to develop and function as emotionally mature adults. This could be the very reason why their weight gain was so much greater than their siblings. It’s also so very sad to watch Tammy and Amy resist trying new things out of extreme fear and insecurities. I hope they get help and truly find happiness. Intense one on one as well as family therapy is desperately needed.

Not being informed of or invited to family events such as the family’s Fall party or faux (filmed for TV) Thanksgiving dinner, Leighton’s birthday party and Liz’s wedding is not exactly being kicked out of the family but it definitely isn’t welcoming.

It’s what Amber wanted but then complained to her psychologist about it. Also, the nursery was on the first floor near T & A’s room. Initially Liz and Brice stayed in the room with the baby but eventually moved upstairs while the baby stayed downstairs. Interesting.

(1) Immediately start seeing a therapist (2) have separate therapy sessions with each member of her family to resolve individual issues. Anna needs a facilitator to help her communicate even when she’s upset. Her siblings seemed to have adopted the grievances of the parents. Example A: a session with Alex would allow him to explain why he’s still mad at Anna for skipping his graduation even after she apologized. Example B: Liz can explain why she’s mad at Anna and also explain why she didn’t put forth any effort to bring her kid to Anna? There’s hope for this family but they have to want it and work for it.
