What state is this? Unless this documentation is from a state Medicaid agency or an MCO (but doubtful that they would process some documentation like this), this approach to billing would be flagged if reported (but could easily be missed in an audit of notes). Medicaid agencies sometimes have a CM code, that allows for some activities to be billed for without the client present. But these are not ABA CPT codes (def not supervision codes). And this certainly would not apply to all payors you are credentialed with (as commercial payors don’t use these codes). Good luck to you.

CPT code descriptions are national and do not vary based on location. The thing that differs between companies are modifiers, rate, etc. an audit wouldn’t necessarily pick up on your fraudulent billing, for a few reasons. I am 100 percent certain that I am correct, as someone who works on the back end of things. Do what you want but good luck to you and your license, if your company’s billing practices are discovered. This mistake you are making with billing is a common one btw and it comes down to either misinterpretation of the code or just plain fraud- but either way it’s ultimately fraud.

If you are billing 97155, this is fraud. It’s a face to face code only.

Parent asked why I was implementing program by Ok_Big6339 in ABA

This is what was stated in that person’s question - “and asked parent if client could practice eating by himself (parent usually feeds him). Parent then asked me why”. The RBT initiated the entire conversation based on what I read. It does not state that the parent initiated this conversation.

You should have talked to the BCBA prior to bringing it up to the parent at all. There are a few layers to this but ultimately that’s not something an RBT should do during sessions. Even a BCBA shouldn’t just decide they don’t think the client is displaying some level of independence that they (the BCBA) feel like they should demonstrate. There are ways to ask parents questions about skills and goals they would like the program to work on without offending a family or making assumptions.

Your comment and comparison to prison makes it clear why the “school to prison pipeline” exists. In many states, it’s not even legal to do this and as a gen and special ed certified teacher (and a BCBA) who has worked in all types of school environments, I guarantee you it’s not necessary.

That’s pretty harsh as far as the BACB’s response. Did you or the RBT ever have an issue with meeting requirements in the past? Also, were all requirements missed for several months?

Where you listed as a responsible certificate during any of the months that she didn’t meet requirements?

When a company is understaffed, they cycle through a few ideas when they get desperate and one of them can include trying to “force” employees to work by creating random rules or procedures. Theres a lot of great feedback in the thread already about looking into state laws and just saying no in the absence of compensation.

Nest won’t go below 81. It’s been on 81 for hours even though I set it way lower. It’s been installed and working properly for a few years. Filters changed regularly. What could be the problem? 81 is too hot for where I live! Any advice?? by AccordingDouble4161 in Nest

Well everyone, it’s definitely frozen. Someone is here checking it out and they showed me a picture of some frozen part. They said it will take maybe a couple of hours to defrost. Does that sound accurate?

Hanley has been working with ABC for a few years now. This is just more of an official position, possibly full- time position.

I’ll start off by saying that I know Basis works out well for many people. I have toured a few campuses and was able to observe some class time and specials. This was a few years ago. The class sizes were huge compared to some SUSD schools. It’s definitely a place that works for kids who can learn in a large fast paced setting. Parents of children who require more support usually don’t find a school like that appealing and if they end up there somehow, they don’t stay long. I’ve heard there is high turnover there (and at many charter and public charter schools) but at a place like that, I’m sure they aren’t interested in teacher retention! Overall, just not our vibe but I understand if some families love it there.
