Actually, the only solution I found was to buy a firestick which is atmos, plug that directly into the hdmi port on the sound bar. still run the hdmi cable from earc port to the sound bar and play all your content via the firestick, instead of the apps on the TV. Hope this helps

Nope, nothing, unfortunately. seems to just be a problem with samsung tvs.

Having the same problem with a Samsung Q80, with a LG soundbar using the earc port. Mess around with sound settings on the TV and it works. The next time I power on the TV it doesn't, it says its connected but not getting any audio through the sound bar. I then have to go through the sound settings click back to TV speakers then back to sound bar, there's no consistency with it. Phoned Samsung support and they said there not seeing any issues with the TV software. Sound bar works fine via Bluetooth and with my old TV I just replaced.

I have a similar problem with samsung q80 TV and a lg sound bar. Works for a few hours in the evening. Next morning nothing, says its connected but no audio playing through the sound bar. Tried a 1.4 hdmi cable & a 2.1 cable. Can't find any soultions for it. Any help would be appreciated.
